Spent one night at Premier Inn Whitstable, and it was a great experience. The room was clean and comfortable, offering excellent value for money. What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the warm and cheerful welcome we received from the receptionist. After a long day of travel, it wasn’t just a standard check-in—it was a genuinely friendly and welcoming experience filled with positivity. We’ll definitely be back!

Premier Inn have lost their way with this hotel. Our stay a couple of days ago was awful. We had booked two rooms. The door was wide open to the first room when we arrived so no idea who had been in or out. The cleanliness of the second room was a disgrace ... toilet had poo visible on the side on the bowl and on the toilet seat. The decor of the rooms are out of date and look very tired. Black mould on the net curtains and dirt around the hand grips on the baths compounded the initial issues. The vending machine in the reception area wasn't working and the coin slot sellotaped over. Serious issues with the operating standards in this hotel and we won't be going there again.

Have stayed here many times at Christmas but this year it was horrible. Had booked early check-in but It took half an hour because the Receptionist clearly had problems dealing with the check-in. She eventually checked us in to our rooms, but offered no apology or explanation for the delay. My room smelt very musty and didn’t seem very clean. The pillows are hard and the shower was pathetic. The whole building looks tired, faded and in need of urgent refurbishment. Breakfast was also pathetic. I wanted a continental breakfast but there was no bread to make toast! I will not be returning to this Premier Inn until or unless urgent improvements are made.

We have stayed at this hotel many times previously and dined in the Beefeater next door. We were fully aware that although there was still in-house dining, the menu was limited but we were not quite prepared for how limited and poor quality of the evening meal. From start to finish we had issues with having to wait ages for someone to come to reception to check in, we were given a disabled room (which we had not requested) but it was a small low bed, compared to the lovely big beds we have had previously. The evening meal was paltry - no choice of starters and no side dishes to go with our main meal. Only 2 items on the menu for dessert - fruit (mostly chopped up apple) and ice-cream! Luckily breakfast was good - as was the friendliness of the staff - who are obviously very stretched.

I have never before been asked to book the unlimited breakfast on the grounds of it 'being very busy at times', I declined and was unimpressed that we were the only couple bar one more in the whole facility when we went to breakfast! It was freezing cold in the room as the external door was jammed wide open as Premier Inn have not signed the way and 'people keep getting lost' thereby emphasising both the issue being long term and unaddressed. The apple juice jug was empty and having had our first helping, whilst staff required three attempts to clear a table, firstly removing items, then going for cleaning products and then going for cutlery, the first two could have been combined so that returning empty handed the table could have been wiped and reset, we were ignored to a point we left as the day was being consumed by such lacking staff that the unlimited notion was inoperable and not available. Premier Inn your standards are dropping and in very noticeable jumps, others which you had the edge over are being fast approached by you, not them catching up, but you falling back.

The only downside was no information until we asked regarding the restaurant where it was and everything seemed to go out of stock as soon as people ordered. But breakfast was good, but extremely limited contental breakfast which was crumpets toast a few cereals, tesco Greek yogurt (low fat yuck!)
