Where do I start. Firstly the room as expected was clean and tidy, which I’ve come to expect with Premier. We arrived just before dinner and decided to eat there, as meals are usually ok. I know they are making changes but the food was terrible. My wife and I had fish and chips, cold chips and powdery tasting fish. My mother had chicken goujons which were like rubber. Coffee was tasteless. Moving on to the morning after a good sleep as we were very tired after a long journey. Shower, ours was cold, we could not get hot water. This was remedied after talking to the reception. Breakfast. We were booked in for 9am. There was no cooked breakfast until nearly 9.45am and because everyone was waiting was gone in a flash so another wait until more was cooked. The only other time we ate there was the last morning which was cooked on request and had to wait 1hr for it. I must add that I think it was all down to being under staffed. The poor lad having to book people in was also taking orders being a waiter and having to clean tables. This guy should be given a medal. I asked at reception if we could change rooms due to trouble for the ladies getting in and out of the bath. This was never addressed, consequently my wife had a fall on the last morning. Lastly you now get two different WiFi signals one is free the other as usual for greedy businesses wasn’t. The free speed was limited to 0.8mb/s Terrible. So after many years of using Premier inns, this will be my last.

I have used premier inn several times now around the country, this was by far the worst hotel yet, especially as the beefeater side of the restaurant was closed down and the so called in-house restaurant only had small selection of meals and had I have known this I would never have booked this hotel. I also think that that the standard of the rooms has slipped, bathroom not very clean, bedroom looked a bit dingy, also we could hear the people in the room above moving around all the time.

Welcoming staff, easy check in. Clean aired room. Clean sheets and towels. Good facilities. Comfortable bed, extra pillows if required. Good choices for breakfast. Enjoyed our 4 day stay.

We stayed at the Whitstable Premier Inn for two nights in August. The room was filthy there was old food on the floor, wrappers under the bed food stains on the bed. There was a stain which looked like dried blood or excrement on the sheets of one of the beds. The staff were all lovely and friendly and did come to change the sheets. I found my toddler with a bit of fried food in their mouth and they gave me an earing. It is not the consistent standard you expect of a Premier Inn. This Premier Inn does not air conditioning we were provided 2 fans but the room did not get below 27 degrees whilst we were there.

Excellent service from Ella and Edward - just really friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfasts. The chef was also lovely and did the scrambled eggs on request for kids. Generally felt like all staff were kind - beds comfy and good value. The rooms are a bit hot but there are fans and we were all happy.

Booked this back in May or June. As our stay approached, I read a couple of TripAdvisor reviews and was frankly, alarmed. I shouldn’t have been. Our experience was light years from the one star reviews - so much so, that I have to assume these people have enjoyed palatial experiences in some of the finest hotels on the planet. The two iffy bits: the shower pressure was a bit lacking and yes - the room was a bit hot and I accept in the heatwave things were possibly a but grim. BUT - the room was comfortable and spotless. Beds made up nicely. All staff members were extremely professional, efficient and friendly and, crucially, deserving of far more than these deeply unpleasant reviews. (One receptionist knocking off at eight - red hair; v young - took time to have a nice conversation with an elderly couple obviously taken with her). When I mentioned them, staff were all too aware, and seemed dismayed. Shame on the OTT reviewers. We’ll be back.
