The cabin smells musty and unclean No lights out side, felt unsafe. The outside toilet and Shower were run down and unclean. So we decided it was not fit for purpose .So we approached the owner Grant to see weather we could get a refund of some sort..This is when things turned nasty. He did offer an upgrade to a bigger cabin, but by that time we just wanted to leave. Found a motel in central Whitanga. Wow great place for our 20th wedding anniversary.

A group of us girls stayed in The caravan at the campground five in total. We found the facilities great, good long hot showers.Our hosts Grant and Jo , were Awesome , very accommodating, helpful, and friendly. lovely tranquil setting with bush all around, close to the beach. We had an Awesome stay , would recommend and will definitely be back . Thank you so much ! The Dargaville crew 👍🤣

Exceptional location and facilities. Jo and Grant were very helpful and keep the premesis clean and tidy on a daily basis. Everyone staying at the site were friendly and nice to stay with. Will definitely be back to stay when next in the area. Great Experience! Thanks again Grant and Jo for being such wonderful hosts. 😊

The reception lady was lovely however the room was not very clean waz very old and outdated room that smelt musty
Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable shower pressure was bad and no heating had to use an oil heater, dinning chair's were broken
Would never stay there again
Was very over priced
They need to upgrade everything about the rooms

I did not have big expectatin about this location, but it was ok for what it is : a campsite. We were comfortale and had most of what we needed. the only problem is that after sometime the cold water became a bit brownish, so basically we had to survive using the hot water only.

Nice place to stay at reasonable price. Definitely a bargain place to stay (i.e not luxury). We stayed there when it was very busy around New Year. The female bathrooms stopped working for at least a day. Many ladies started usithe men's bathroom and showers, which is fine, it there didn't seem to be any signs or info from the facility manager about what to do or when to expect a solution.
