Skky Hotel

The Hotel is very conveniently located a short walk away from the Airport. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The room and the bathroom are clean, the beds comfortable. The restaurant in the Hotel serves some of the best Indian food I have tasted. Overall, I will stay there again, and will recomended it to friends and colleagues.

We found the bed rather difficult to get comfortable in, the protective cover was air tight and resulted in us filling we were sleeping on to full air bed. The pillows were also covered so difficult to snuggle into. The staff was friendly, helpful, polite and spoke to is with respect. We were on the first floor at our request. I would stay again if the need arose, we were waiting on repairs to our RV.

The Skky Hotel is on the side of a main road with a huge car park in front for safe parking, a five minute walk from Whitehorse airport and has an excellent Indian restaurant attached. The facilities are all quite adequate but beware that it has no lift and rooms on two floors if you struggle with cases and stairs (I’m sure that requesting a ground floor room would not be a problem as our emailed request for decaf coffee in the room was attended to before we arrived and throughout our 5 night stay). It sounds like standard fare for a conveniently located airport hotel. However, the staff really make this establishment quite special. Toomi welcomed us and, without being asked, delivered our heavy luggage to our room on the second floor. Toomi really did go the extra mile – thank you. All the staff were exceptionally friendly. Jefferson always had a chat and a smile. All in all, the only disadvantage is that it is not in town but that’s why it is so good for the airport, plus, it has a good restaurant. If you are looking for breakfast, a short stroll across the car park brings you to the Airport Chalet which supplies reasonably priced fare with a smile.

Our company frequently moves workers in and out of Whitehorse, and we always make it a point to stay at the SKKY Hotel. Here’s why: Location: The hotel is conveniently located right across the highway from the airport, making it a quick 5-10 minute walk to check-in, even with heavy bags. There’s a great breakfast restaurant and bar next door, and for dinner, the Indian restaurant in the hotel is a solid choice. Exceptional Staff: The front desk staff are always helpful and accommodating. A special shout-out to Imran, who went above and beyond to assist me in coordinating travel plans for our crews. They also offer reasonably priced soft drinks and snacks at the front desk if you ask, which is a nice convenience. Comfortable Rooms: The rooms are spacious, with large showers and plenty of hot water, and the beds are very comfortable. Personally, I find the standard pillows a bit large, but whenever I mention it at check-in, they always provide a smaller pillow for me. Wifi was fast enough and I manage to get work done at the small desk in each room. One thing to keep in mind: if you want to explore Whitehorse, you'll need to either drive or take a cab to get downtown. Taxis are readily available and reasonably priced. Overall, it’s a great place to stay for business travel, and I highly recommend it!

We literally walked with our carry-ons to the airport from the hotel -- no need for a taxi. We actually rented our car from the airport so we could go downtown and drive to the National Park. We read that free parking could be limited downtown so we opted for the quiet location of Skky Hotel that had plenty of free parking (mostly gravel lot) and no noise from the airport (we stayed in a room away from the street/Alaskan Highway). You can also walk to the nearby Yukon Transportation Museum and Beringia Museum. The hotel is a bit dated, esp. the furniture but clean and the staff at reception were very helpful and cheery (shout out to Jefferson for greeting me every morning)! The A/C /heating worked, the windows opened, and there is a fridge in the room as well as a coffee maker and kettle. Beds were comfortable. There is no elevator which was not a problem for us on the second floor. Cleaning staff were quiet workers. Reception was on 24/7 and there were video-cams in the hallways which made us feel secure. Excellent Indian restaurant on-site. Happy to recommend this hotel!

I love ❤️ Whitehorse, it's been my 3rd time visiting last August 2024, my first was December 2022,2nd time was last year August 2023. I fell in love with the Yukon on my first trip and I keep coming back. I am planning to move next Summer 2025. I felt like I am home in Whitehorse. There are lots of activities you can do. A lot of places to go and explore. People are so friendly and accommodating. I love mountains, lakes, rivers and the trails . See you again next year Whitehorse, Yukon my next HOME .
