Ptarmigan Village Condominiums

These are privately owned units so each will vary. It was cutely finished, was clean, and at first seemed great. Resort has lake beach and outdoor pool available off premises and indoor pool and outdoor tennis couerna. Unit has nice deck with grill. Setting is wooded. The biggest problem was mold in the unit. I understand this is a wet area and in the woods but dehumidifiers are an easy fix. They had none. I would never put carpet in a place that is humid-theirs was stinky and moldy. Couch stunk and just sitting on it made it hard for me to breathe. Mold problem in bedrooms too. Also quite a bit of mold throughout the dishwasher. Electric outlets were so loose the plug would fall out. Also, not a good place for people with problems climbing steps-steps to get in and steps to and from bedrooms. No commutable chairs at all. We left early as I kept getting asthma attacks

The Village is very good, good location and good facilities i.e. outdoor and indoor pool etc. The private beach was a bonus and very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy to check in and check out. The apartment was good. The kitchen was stocked well with kitchen goods and was clean. WIFI was good. Would recommend staying there, with some small issues with the apartment. Disliked · The apartment (dog tooth) did not have a hairdryer which when you travel from overseas you would need, Never experienced this in any other apartment I've stayed in - luckily the lady on reception kindly lent me one. There were no coat hangers in apartment. The king bed was unfortunately extremely uncomfortable. Tv didn't seem to work ..we couldn't get normal channels on it. The tiny balcony is shared with apartment adjoining with no chairs only a small table and you sit looking directly into someone's lounge not private at all and a bit awkward!

Ptarmigan Village was a perfect location for our ski trip to Big Mountain, Whitefish Montana. Our family had a great time, and we were very comfortable. The hot tub and pool was very nice and a short walk from our condo. We all would like to go back in the summer, and enjoy all that Whitefish has to offer.

Negatives: Beware rip off fees! On top of $150 cleaning fees we paid for 3 days and ‘resort fees’ we were also charged a $90 damage protection fee which we presumed was a refundable deposit. We found out to our shock it was not. This was not clearly stated in the original invoice. Price on website is not what the real price is. Never had a non refundable damages deposit before. So beware this! Unit had a bed cover with a cigarette hole, old and dated shower which was falling apart and a sink that we had to manually lift the plug to drain. Sofas also need a clean as rather smelly. Like another reviewer we had a bat come out from under the sink … maybe via a hole in the floor? Not sure. Stopped using pool due to kids diving into it and then people taking it over playing loud music and partying. No supervision there. Indoor pool was also dirty with hair when I tried to use it. Whole site feels a bit rundown. Management seems disinterested. Positive: Pleasant views amongst the trees. Convenient for Big Mountain. Clean. Would not stay again. We stayed at 36 Windriver.
