Hyatt House Parsippany Whippany

This particular hotel nickels and dimes for everything. Check in at 3pm and if you want a minute before even if room is assigned and ready, its $20 extra. Parking is $17 even though it's in the middle of nowhere. Later checkout is extra $40. No complimentary bottled water. It doesn't matter if you are a Hyatt Loyalty member and I have been a loyalist for a very long time. I have never experienced this before in where there is a cost for everything. Seriously considering cancelling my membership and moving onto Marriott Bonvoy program. Giving it 2 stars because the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Nope. Don't do it unless you want to add $15 per car per day to your overall room cost for parking. This would have been good to know BEFORE booking the hotel.

Very comfortable bed and high quality linens are provided. Fully equipped kitchen with a stove and oven, which was very convenient and much appreciated. Wegmans is in walking distance so it is possible to buy fresh ingredients and cook them and/or reheat food to save on meal expenses. Lovely pool area and even a small bar offering cold drinks, appetizers and sandwiches. Rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. There is an outdoor seating area with a gas grill for guest use, and a nicely equipped gym. Property is pet-friendly, so we have been able to bring our two cats with us several times. Staff is excellent and accommodating.

Clean & quiet but some things to know before you book: lovely rooms with LR & Kitchen that are nicely appointed & ample dishware; Easy Check In & Out. We stayed 2 nights (a Sat & Sun) & our family had 3 rooms on the 2nd floor. Things I wish I had known before hand: Pillows are extremely big so if you like a smaller pillow bring your own. Web site doesn't tell you the H-bar restaurant is closed Sat & Sun now but at least there is a Wegman's grocery store adjacent. Only our room had a very noisy crinkly vinyl mattress cover that interfered with our sleep--I'd ask for a room without one. Lots at the Breakfast bar including my fav unsweetened yogurt except no Granola. I would stay here again but with my own pillow, etc. FYI: My niece has stayed here several times & recommended it.
