The Farmers Kitchen Hotel

We called into The Farmers kitchen Wexford this evening & it was exactly 8.31, we were looking for something to eat, to be told quite abruptly no they couldn’t serve us, even though it was 1min past 8.30 which was their time for last orders! there was very few people in there,,, we left & we rang Whitford House Hotel which was close by & asked what time food was served till they said 8.30 but to come ahead, even though at this stage it was 8.40 we arrived to a lovely welcome from their fantastic staff & had a gorgeous meal!! Excellent customer experience as always!! Highly recommend The Whitford! Would not recommend the farmers kitchen unfortunately, very poor customer service!

First the good: the hotel is well situated for Rosslare ferry port and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. But our room was dreadful. Stained and rucked up carpet; dirty staining on the walls; bedside electric socket hanging off the wall; broken window blind; room temperature like an oven; the worst quality bedding I have ever seen in a hotel; noisy extractor outside that started up at 4.45 a.m. etc. All for €140 per night. Very poor value for money. .

Very outdated needs refurb , where do I start , bathroom newly done not finished properly , Paint to be finished , grubby doors to be painted , old 1950's key

We booked a meal for 31 people after a day's outing. We picked our dinner choices in advance to save time as we would be facing jnto a long journey home. We were met by Andrew who showed us to our seating area where the tables were very nicely set. Our different choices arrived piing hot, nicely presented and served by the friendliest of staff. Desert was totally delicious 😋 As a club having an outing we would highly recommend this venue.

We had four car's in our party,as we were attending a wedding west of Dublin, so arriving off the ferry in the early evening, we decided to stay over night at The Farmers Kitchen before the long drive to the wedding venue. Arriving, following a short 20 minute drive from the Rosslare terminal, we arrived in the large carpark. Check-in was welcoming,quick and smooth. My room was large with double and single beds plus a window couch, chair,table, tv and plenty of tea and coffee.The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was ideal. We met in the traditional atmosphere pub, Irene Scallan's Bar that is attached to the hotel,for a pre-meal drinkalso a special mention for the friendly bartender. We ate in Gastro Lounge restaurant, we were a table of 13 but the staff were excellent, as was the food and at a good price. My vegetable 'soup of the day' and breaded plaice were both filling and delicious. Following a comfy night's sleep, we had breakfast in the same place.The waiting staff were very obliging and my Full Irish Breakfast was more than ample. Some of the areas of this hotel are a little dated and tired,personally I liked it's character and the general feel of the place, coupled with the hospitable staff, meant I had a enjoyable overnight stay.
