The Sandringham Hotel

Babies milk bottle found down behind the pillows on the bed , had obviously been there awhile . Food all under the bed . No hot water in the shower for over an hour in the morning . Shower drain so blocked up with filthy it wouldn't let the water go down , my partner had to clear the drain for us to shower .

A great location unfortunately a rather tired and shabby room, in fact the whole hotel is badly in need of a facelift. staff were friendly but seemed overstretched small details lacking cruets and glasses left off tables in the dining room, bar staff frequently leaving to go and complete tasks elsewhere leaving guests to stand and wait at the bar. Noisy at night from people passing in the street out side of ground floor room window ( it was a bank holiday) Absolutely zero guest car parking only available parking is in large multistorey car park opposite (not that cheap) so be prepared to carry luggage across the road if drop spaces are occupied. Personally would not return here.

We have been staying at the Sandringham for about 15 years. We have been back since it was bought out by new owners upon talking to the few remaining staff it would seem that the new owner has pushed out the decent staff they had in favor of their own much to the detriment of the hotel I have never known it so filthy. Corridors and landings are disgusting, carpet doesn't seem to have been cleaned since the takeover. one lift was constantly out of order. Our room was dusty and sandy in the windows, skirting boards were full of dust and behind the bed had not been cleaned. And no hot water on floor 3 and 4. the food is horrible now. The buffet breakfast which was a highlight has now been stopped and you have to preorder what you want the night before and portions are tiny. If you want continental it is already out when you come down including juice which seems to be sat out for hours was warm every day There is nobody on reception with local knowledge any more beyond what they can Google and the new receptionists are very rude, I heard one man ask about local restaurants as they didnt like the meals and the receptionist was awful to them What was once a lovely family run holiday destination has been allowed to go downhill presumably when they close to renovate it things will be better but we wont be returning the heart and soul of the hotel have gone.

Disgustingly dirty hotel. Refusing a refund. Mattress was so soft I couldn’t sleep on it, mud and marks on the wall, terrible smell. As the room was non-refundable, they are now holding my money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Currently this hotel is extremely dirty and very shabby. The new owners and management team have a mountain to climb to revive it. In my humble opinion I’d give it a miss until they’ve finished the refurb, and all together if you have mobility issues as it is full of steps and has only 2 very old lifts( 1 wasn’t working during our visit ) The beds are ancient and you can feel every spring in them and they sink in the middle. The rooms are very basic and not very clean and the hot water is very temperamental. On the positive side, the location is fab, as is the food, and the staff are trying their best with what they have.
