Coho Inn & Motor Lodge

This was my first stay at the Coho Inn & Motor Lodge in Weston, Vermont. My wife had been here 10 years ago, and another 7 years before that when the hotel was under previous ownership. She was obsessed with the breakfast, which was the primary reason for staying. We didn't know ownership had changed until we arrived, and we were in for a very pleasant surprise. The hotel has two lodging options – the motor lodge, which is kind of like a ranch style building next to the inn with rooms that you enter from outside, and the inn, which has 4 rooms in the second floor of the main building. We stayed in two rooms in the inn which were air conditioned, roomy and very comfortable. Our kids stayed in twin beds across the hall from us. Each room has an Apple TV, nice bath/showers – overall, very nice. Down the stairs is a beautiful lobby that has water, snacks, puzzles, games, books, and a few comfortable seating areas. Breakfast was excellent – it's buffet style with bacon, scrambled eggs, muffins, pastries, oatmeal options, and very good coffee (plus hot chocolate for the kids). I think our favorite part of the experience was interacting with the family that owns the hotel. The owners are a young couple with an adorable daughter who my kids really enjoyed playing with. They live in the residential side of the inn and are very communicative about when they're stepping away from the hotel and are always available for anything we needed. They are so kind and helpful and just want everyone to have a great experience at the hotel. They are making improvements to modernize the hotel not just in the inn, but in the motor lodge rooms as well, which I think will go a long way in raising the overall profile of the place. Bottom line - if you're looking for that quintessential, quaint lodging experience in Vermont, this is the place. When we left, one of my sons said, "this place feels like home" – I think that's exactly what the owners are going for, and they do a great job of it.

This motor inn had a lot of really good things about it, but it was not a good fit for us. I believe in making an honest review of experience as I hope all reviewers do. I do think if we had had a different room we would have been much more pleased. We arrived bout 8 pm and did self check in. The grounds were really cute, and the setting was like a Hallmark movie! Got to the room and it did not have A/C. We did not see that this room did not when we reserved. They had in the write up for the hotel that it had A/C, so never thought about making sure this room did. They had very nicely had a fan running, but it was still hot. We wanted a no pet motor inn room, and this was, but we would have chosen a room with A/C or stayed elsewhere. Anyway, it was cute and clean which we were thrilled for. It was VERY reasonably priced. It was a tiny room, which was ok. There were very few plug ins. Unfortunately the family who recently purchased this property had not yet redone this room (again, had we known, we would have chosen differently-there was no price difference to indicate that it might be less desirable). The real problem came when the VERY uneven and wobbly floor caused both of us to trip ( but not fall) a few times. We did not complain because it was late and we had had a long day driving. The breakfast in the morning was good! Eggs, bacon, muffins and a very nice and friendly lady was tending the breakfast was much appreciated! We did not meet the owners, but we heard they were nice. If you don’t mind the things we didn’t care for, you will love CoHo.

We had a great stay at the Coho Inn! The bed was really comfortable with bright white linen. It was a very cold weather the room was nice and warm. One of the owners even went out of her way to give me a ride to Magic Mountain. I highly recommend this family run Inn! The breakfasts (included) was delicious.

Great Experience.

This is property worked great for our long weekend snowboarding getaway. Our room was dated but fit our needs. The late night check in was easy and the room secure. The owners are charming and they really went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

My daughter and I stayed here for one night for a little getaway. The room was very cozy and had a nice view. We stayed in #11 at the Inn. Bed was super comfortable, bathroom vas very clean and well-equipped and larger than I had expected for an inn room. The common room is adorable with an area for puzzles and games and an area with a pellet stove (which they had cranking on this particular night!), a couch, love seat and a few stuffed chairs for reading or socializing. Perfect for cocktails - which they will gladly make for you! We both had a nice sleep and were awoken only by the smell of bacon the next morning. Breakfast was delicious, there are individual tables for two or that sat several - your choice as to whether to mingle or not. My daughter was pleased that they had Greek yogurt and fruit. The morning we were there they offered several different juices, coffee, scrambled eggs and bacon, an assortment of breads, bagels, muffins, croissants, oatmeal, and I’m sure I’m leaving something out. The family that owns the inn are super sweet and friendly. Funky decor, from the wallpaper to the upholstery to the wall art. We loved it and would stay in again if we are ever back in the area.
