We stayed there on our honeymoon 2 days ago and it was a breathtaking experience. It was cold and windy but there was floor heating and heated blankets in the room. Monkeys were a bit of a problem when we went to the jacuzzi.

The Fernery is indeed a 'hideaway' worthy of the prefix ‘perfect’ weekend (or longer) spoil. offering wonderful hikes, and biking, a Spa comparative the best I've experienced, and good tasty cuisine.

Beautifully embedded in nature, The Fernery Lodge & Spa is perched on the slope of a waterfall in the Tsitsikamma National Park, surrounded by forest and overlooking the Indian Ocean. The spacious chalets are stylishly furnished with all modern comforts. The bathroom in particular, with floor-to-ceiling windows, conveys the feeling of being outdoors. An outdoor barbecue creates a romantic and adventurous atmosphere. The main house is also glazed so that you can enjoy the outdoors at all times. Breakfast is plentiful with a large selection of fresh fruit. There is a large selection of wines and menu suggestions. The staff are very service-orientated and courteous. We particularly enjoyed the deep tissue massages, which were carried out by professional therapists. There is a wide range of outdoor activities on offer. But lying by the pool, reading a book, refreshing yourself in the water and indulging in drinks from the pool bar is more than enough. We would stay again at any time

This is the most wonderful place. So tranquil and beautiful. The staff are wonderful, as is the food and our accommodation. The spa was a delight. It's hard to say anything bad about the place, but if you have vertigo, as I do, some of the walkways can be challenging lol

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere overlooking the gorge. You feel in touch with nature. Room 00 was excellent with sea view. Clean and ceiling fans worked well. Pool not huge for the number of guests. Staff friendly and attentive to guests needs. Need to remember it’s a 6km long rough laid drive to this property and hotel restaurant does therefore have a captive audience

Had a wonderful stay wished we had more then one day to enjoy this nice hotel it’s located right at the beach you only need to cross the street very clean and friendly and a good breakfast is served

Lovely location but food in restaurant not 4* and due to the distance from a tarmac road at night they have a captive audience. We were disappointed with the quality. Rooms large and have many amenities. Best suggestion eat elsewhere at lunchtime and bring snacks for the evening. Staff lovely and attentive.

Wij hadden een houten chalet, dit was top. Badkamer waarvan een muur volledig weg te schuiven/ open te maken was, alsof je midden in de natuur in bad zat! Erg ruim opgezet. Verder oogt het her en der wel iets verouderd en een beetje 'duitse jaren 90 sfeer'. Restaurant sfeerloos, eten was oke. Wel fijn dat het ook naar de kamer gebracht kan worden. Ontbijt was dan wel weer prima en ruime keuze. Hottubs fijn, maar sommige moet je wel 'reserveren' wat het iets onpraktisch maakt. Ook de massages waren vrij snel volgeboekt wat er voor zorgt dat je bij een kort verblijf, niet heel veel opties meer hebt. Enorme wijnvoorraad, zitten een paar hele goede wijntjes tussen.
