Hotel Geerts

We arrived at 2.00pm on Tuesday afternoon. Reception was unmanned and no one was around the hotel. We searched the hotel but couldn’t find anyone so headed off to a local cafe for a drink. Back at 1530 still no one around . Finally someone turned up 10 minutes later and gave us our room keys. No apologies. No one warned us that the free hotel car parking was unusable on Tuesday night because on every Wednesday morning a weekly market sets up outside the hotel at 0600 and you cannot get your car out of the hotel car park until 2.00 in the afternoon. This was not mentioned as we checked in but by shear chance I read this in some paperwork in the room. We were forced to park our car in a very dodgy side street away from the hotel. When we tried to discuss this with the hotel manager she was not interested and shrugged her shoulders and was not interested in our views. We would NEVER have booked this hotel had we known this. Why is this not on the website! They were only interested in trying get us to book a dinner table. No chance! This hotel is overpriced, poorly run and just not worth staying at, especially on Tuesday night. Never again.

Nice small hotel with rather large rooms. Clean and comfortable. Despite the small number of rooms the brekfast is rather descent and the attention and service from the staff is suberb. I can higly recommend this hotel.

Lovely family run hotel on the market square of Westerlo. Nice large room and bathroom. The hosts were very kind and friendly. I stayed there with my 85-year-old mother and they did everything to make it even more comfortable for my mother (room close to the elevator, extra sofa chair in the room..) Very good breakfast. 2 restaurants on site (a bistro and a gourmet restaurant), highly recommended. Weather permitting, dining in the impressive garden is possible. The Kempen area is a very beautiful and green region, ideal for walking, cycling, sightseeing (Averbode and Tongerlo abbey, Scherpenheuvel basilica,..)
