TownePlace Suites Salt Lake City-West Valley

My girlfriend and I stayed here in May. The staff wasted about a half hour of our time during check-in (we were very tired, and this was totally unnecessary), and gave us a room that had been smoked in. The hotel hadn't restored this room from the cigarette smoke. They just left it, apparently. On top of the cigarette smell in our room, the whole hotel, especially the lower floors, smelled like raw sewage. Not sure what was going on there. We only stayed one night, and the asked to be compensated for it, due to the unrestored guest room. We were assured it would be taken care of, and it wasn't. It took over a month and 10+ contacts to the hotel, the hotel's management, the hotel's owners (who completely ignored me), and ultimately, the Marriott corporate office, to get this "taken care of". The hotel's upper management avoided communication completely. They did not respond to me at all. This place should not be licensed to be operating under the Marriott brand. Their practices are not in line with Marriott's standards. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere, and avoiding any hotel operated by WSLM.

Everything was great!! I traveled alone and never felt unsafe.. Booking around stay for this hotel within a month.. Definitely recommend!!

Breakfast was lacking. Had to track someone down for plates and napkins. No syrup one hour before breakfast closed. Oatmeal was mostly water, no one wanted to fix it. Facilities were very clean.

The pond nearby has a nice little walking loop
