Hampton Inn West Springfield

Showing it’s age, but a very pleasant stay. The surrounding area could certainly be better, but the hotel staff and overall comfort of the room were very good here! What the hotel might be lacking in physical charm is made up by the warmness of staff and the usual Hampton perks you would expect, like a decent breakfast. Also, parking is free again — it appears they were charging for that last year, but have abandoned that practice.

Our room was fine. The outdoor pool deck could have been cleaner, it was like someone forgot to check outside. My puzzlement is actually with the builder, as it seems like they weren’t considering the people using the rooms. The wall facing the outside had a closet, a desk, and a tiny window. Why not move the furniture to an interior wall, perhaps on the other side of the bathroom and create more window space? The kicker was the toilet. I don’t think the person installing the counter talked to the toilet person. The flush handle is in an awkward crevice. Perhaps they switched toilets and had imagined a front facing handle? In addition, someone installed the toilet paper on the far side of the sink, an arm’s length away. Not convenient for little kids - they have to hop off the toilet. Why not reinstall it on the near side of the sink where it’s closer? See photos.

Not a Happy Customer. Do some Maintenance Work. We stayed at this location 2 days ago and were disappointed overall. The buffet breakfast was lacking. Ice dish put out for yogurt, but none available. The same for apparently cut fruit. On our stay last night both were available. Took a shower and was adjusting the overhead nozzle when I noticed all of the grime where you are suppose to put your hand to adjust. The light in the bathroom seemed dim so I unscrewed the cover shade and one of the light bulbs was not working. I screwed it in and it worked just fine. Two nights ago the same issue in the bathroom. I assume that housekeeping was to lazy to notice or fix the problem. For a Hampton Hotel I was disappointed in the quality of the linens in the bathroom - something like Motel 6 quality. Your dining room furniture needs to be updated or replaced. One of the tables had a piece of cardboard to stop it from wobbling - just fix the problem or move the table away from the middle of the room. We spent the night before last night in a Hampton in Bedford, NH. Their quality of service and food was much improved to your facility. The door to the hotel this morning was making a terrible racket for each person leaving. Sign on the door says doors are locked until 10 am. Didn't have that problem in Bedford. It appeared a District Manager was present this morning as we were leaving. He was more concerned about the placement of a garbage can than anything else. The elevator makes a racket that says use the stairs.

It was a pleasant stay. Staff was professional and courteous. Would definitely stay again.
