My stay at Retreat Crassula Ovata was extremely disappointing. The rooms and bathrooms were dirty and unhygienic, with visible stains and a foul smell. The lack of cleanliness was unacceptable. The food was another major issue—poor quality, tasteless, and worst of all, it caused food poisoning. I fell sick after eating here, which ruined my trip. The reception was unwelcoming, with staff giving a cold and indifferent attitude. There was no effort to address concerns or make guests feel comfortable. Overall, this place fails in basic hospitality standards. Avoid if you value cleanliness, good food, or decent service. A complete waste of money.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is on the extreme top in upper Pelling adjacent to the Cable car ropeway. We got a magnificent view of Kanchenjunga from our room. The rooms are quite big. Only the wash room needs exhaust fan. Also locker facility is to be provided in the room . The breakfast menu was varied and excellent and food served was delicious and tasty. The hospitality of the staff was grand. Overall our stay was very pleasant and comfortable.

Excellent location and rooms. Had opted for super deluxe room and it was amazing. Huge room with big bathroom. And the highlight is the view from the room. You can see Kanchenjunga from your bed. The service is also good and clean and well maintained. The only draw back is the food. A lot can be improved there.

Nice stay with Kanchunjunga view.Uttam bhaiya was very polite and served us very tasty food as per our choice.Recommended to all,prefer rooms with view.

Where do I even begin? My experience at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. We booked a ‘premium’ room with high expectations, made a direct booking, and paid in advance—only to have it all completely wasted. We arrived early with the intention of dropping off our luggage and exploring the city. We requested to inspect the room beforehand but were outright denied because it was allegedly occupied. At the hotel’s kitchen, I attempted to place a lunch order but was told to wait until 1 PM, so we left for our tour. When we returned around 12:30-1 PM, we were finally allowed to see our room, and it was appalling. The room was far from ready, disorganized, and in poor condition. For the price of 6K per night, we were beyond disappointed. We immediately rejected the room and tried to reach the manager for a resolution, but despite assurances, he never showed up. To top off the disgraceful service, at 5 PM, I received a call from one of the hotel employees, accusing us of not having our lunch. He scolded us with “ye aap acha nahi kiye,” as if the fault was ours for not having a meal we never even ordered. The irony was overwhelming. This hotel completely failed in every aspect of hospitality, and I will never return. Truly, thank you for such a disastrous experience.

Company policy said after a stipulated time i cannot cancel. But unforeseen circumstances did not allow us to travel but the property refused to consider at all. A bit of empathy would have helped going beyond rules and regulations. Sad

One of the best hotels in Pelling! Great value for money with well-behaved staff and delicious food. The location is perfect—right opposite the ropeway and just a 2-minute walk from the paragliding spot. Plus, the Kanchenjunga view from this hotel is unbeatable!
