We went to Glenburn lodge for the Valentine's weekend and wow what an amazing experience. Even though it was pouring with rain, everything was so clean and tidy. Our room was river facing so we had a beautiful view of the river. The room and bathroom was clean and tidy. The restaurant's food was amazing and so much value for money. We had the buffet dinner and everything we ate, was devine. The service from the restaurant staff was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful and attended to our every need. We really had a great stay and will definitely be back again

We stayed here for 9 nights, as we were in Muldersdrift for a wedding. This resort was a very nice place to stay, we were in a garden room which was comfortable and clean, but in all honesty could do with a little bit of updating, but that's pretty much the only criticism we have. We ate every night in the bar, the food was very nice and the portion sizes very generous. We relaxed around the pool a couple of times which was nice but maybe having the pool bar open more than just at weekends would have been nice. The resort is quite hilly so if any mobility issues it could be a little difficult. But the best thing about this resort is the staff who are absolutely fantastic, from Management to waiters and barstaff to house keeping, nothing seems to much trouble everyone is friendly and polite with a smile on there faces. If i was to ever return to South Africa and Muldersdrift i would not hesitate to stay here again.

The nature surrounding this lodge is unbelievable 😳 the mountains ⛰️ and the forests so beautiful 😍 it's as if you're far away somewhere in Mpumalanga but you're literally in Joburg. I visit spas a lot but the one here was one of the best 👌 my therapist Winnie Ncube really did a good job 👏 👍 Oh how can I forget the food. You know some places where they cook for a crowd (we were a large group since this was a work conference) they tend to make the food just bland but here they really catered for us. The rooms are nothing to write home about but because of the views and the scenery it made up for it.

Worth the trip, it was peaceful & relaxing. Chalets are very comfortable for a family. Some maintenance is required. Ladies at the spa were gr8 and even watched our kids.

I would recommend Glenburn lodge if you need a weekend away, vacation, solo trip, couple bonding time or just a break from the hustle of daily life. It is a beautiful scenic tranquil place with lots of activities to do or even to just relax. There are lots of activities for the children as well.

It is all around three stars. Staff was very friendly. We had to move rooms due to a leaking Aircon and it was easily facilitated. Which takes me to the maintenance issues everywhere. It’s also too big for my liking so I would find it overwhelming if it had been booked but we went off-season mid-week. Breakfast was very good with loads of options. For dinner, the first night we only got to choose from the pub-type menu and - while the kitchen is skilled - the choice of food wasn’t for us. There was a set menu option the following evening but we were very late and didn’t try it. There’s also the ever-present smell on the whole property; like sewage and we’re not sure if it’s from the dirty river upstream. It’s mild but noticeable. They advertise hikes and you can access the Zwartkops mountain trail area. We did a hike and it must be noted that the walks are not maintained and even on the marked easy walks we had to climb over fallen rocks and there had been landslides and there are fallen trees to climb. We did happen to enjoy that but it’s a tough one. Also to note that the bit along the river smells very strong from the pollution from upstream squatter camps.
