Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ocean City

Just ok. Housekeeping is by request only - which is fine, but 2 different staff members didn't know what a bath mat was when I requested one. Both times, I received more washcloths. Breakfast is pathetic - only carbs/breads and sugar cereal. Oranges and waxy apples. Fresh bananas wouldn't be too much to ask for, along with some eggs and meat. ALL other chains offer these items. A male staff member yelled at my family for using the stairs when he was cleaning. The reasoning was simple - 1 elevator for 4 floors, during check-in time. It was in use so we took 1 flight of stairs. The charge a fictitious "resort fee" when it's a normal hotel with a pool and fitness room. No other "resort" amenities. Our room door wouldn't shut properly and the internet is not good. Lastly, I contacted both Wyndham corporate and the property owner directly to try to set up a group rate. Neither one could bother to respond. We'll go somewhere else next time and get a decent breakfast and good service.

The pillows were comfortable as well as the bed. When I needed clean towels I asked housekeeping while they were on the floor and put the dirty towels outside my door. The hot tub and pool were amazing. I would stay here again since it’s so close to everything. The only thing is going over the bridge to the beach in a Friday and Saturday night is a bit hectic due to traffic but other than that it was a great stay.

The staff was amazing. Hotel is clean. I thought the rooms would be small but they are s good size with microwave and fridge. Great stay

We booked a room in Dec. for a 3 night stay for a music Festival in May. Once the hotel realized they hadn't upped their rates they cancelled all 3rd party cheaper reservations. No notice, traveled from Utah to MD. Manager Kim was terrible, rude, unapologetic, offered no solutions, and blamed our 3rd party supplier for the cancellation. Our reservation with ID90 was still active. You should FIRE her. And you should be ashamed that your company would treat customers that way. There were several other people in the hotel lobby that had been told the same things. We ended up having to book another hotel, luckily we found one close by but cost us over 3 times what we had paid for this reservation. Will never book Microtel or Wyndham ever again for future needs. And please don't reply with "reviews are for people who have actually stayed at our hotel" as I have seen from other displaced customers. And you put the poor front desk lady in a position to have to be the bad guy. This just shows that money matters more than the customers you serve.

The biggest negative was the breakfast. If you need a gluten-free breakfast, for example, there were no options.

Nice little room Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had doubts when we pulled up to the hotel. But between the staff and the location we were pleasantly pleased and would consider staying at this place on future visits.
