Woodspring Suites West Monroe

This hotel is fine for single guys but not good at all for families. The room had a very distinct and gross smell to it. Definitely a 1-star motel feel to it. The women working there were very nice but I still would not recommend.

The hallways and bedroom have a very bad strong odor. The building smells old. Lots of stains on the carpets which look like they could be from where pets use the bathroom. The place is just old. No housekeeping nor maintenance were there. When we got to our room we noticed the toilet was clogged and asked for maintenance but since they had no staff the front desk basically told us they had plungers downstairs and to do it ourselves. I will say when we asked for a new room and they had no hesitation on moving us. The front desk workers were helpful but had no other staff to help. You also have to throw away your trash in the garbage outback before checking out.

Welll- elevator was broken and we were on the4th floor. Receptionist was happy to accommodate us but overall the property was worn out.

Staff was nice and friendly plus property was a reasonable price. I was not aware that they do not do early check in under any corc

Getting luggage into the handicap room was a nightmare. I was told to park in the back and use the luggage cart by the back door. No designated handicap parking in the back. No ramp for wheelchair or the luggage cart. I had to leave the cart on the very narrow walkway about 8-10 inches above the driveway. I had to struggle with several trips from car to the cart. The brake on the cart would not engage and rolled off the sidewalk fully loaded. It took several attempts to lift the cart back up the curb onto the walk. Then getting the cart through the door was another fiasco. No automatic door. You have to use two hands to open the door. One for the key card and the other to turn the handle. In the meantime the luggage cart is rolling off the curb! Then, when you finally get the door open you have try to hold the door and maneuver the cart sideways on the skinny sidewalk through the door. And again at the room door. No Kleenex in room. No hand towel. Very noisy air conditioning unit. Very noisy from hallway. No sound insulation at all.

The hotel was ok. I expected a lot more from this hotel chain. There were 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths. There are no hand towels in this hotel. If I wanted extra towels I would had to take the dirty towels to the front desk and get clean ones. There were a couple spots in the cleaning that needed attention. Overall the hotel was ok Miss Ebony at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful.
