Booked a table on Friday 25th April 2025, for a meal in the evening. They were very accommodating. Appt booked for 7.45pm. The food was fresh and delicious. I had pate for starters and duck with vegetables for main course. Thoroughly recommend these choices. Very reasonable for 3 people. I would definitely recommend this restaurant The staff are very good. We have visited before and never had a bad meal. We will return. Thanks

This is the second time to The Gordon Arms, our first in February, where we discovered this place by accident, this time travelling from Loch Lomond to eat here. The food is Stunning, staff are professional and courteous, couldn’t do enough for us during our visit. A wide range of draught ales, along with a selection of Single malt whiskeys for your pleasure. Definitely returning a third time when back in Scotland. Well done to all members of Staff at The Gordon Arms for making this a real gem to visit.

Absolutely amazing food! Went as a family of 9 and all had starters and mains and every one of us were blown away! Each meal was delicious and far superior to your average pub food! Really great value with huge portions all round. It’s an absolute must if you’re in the area! Really friendly staff topped off our visit, thank you!

The Gordon’s Arms is a real locals pub. Lots of the clientele knew each other and there is a sense of a real community hub. But we were made to feel welcome on both visits and the food was excellent. We stopped for an evening meal in the bar and a takeaway pizza- both were excellent and reasonably priced. The bar is really dog friendly - not just paying lip-service as many places do!

This was my first visit to the Gordon Arms, for food, and won't be my last! A group of us went for our Christmas work meal and were warmly welcomed by the lovely staff. Although the restaurant was full, the meals all arrived on time, piping hot and absolutely delicious. Probably the best pub meal I have had for many years, I will certainly return and eat again. Thank you for a lovely evening. The staff were superb.

Local talk indicated that The Gordon Arms is under new ownership and aiming to update in all aspects. As it is now our nearest local restaurant, we booked in. The reception was warm and friendly. The choice of tables was very good, all being nicely laid on polished old wood tops with quality glassware and cutlery. The menu was varied (with good choices for Veggies), several starters, 4/5 meat entrées and 2 more chef's specials, my wife selected the grilled Sea Bream with a delicious sauce. I chose the Duck Breast with a Mexican style sauce (mildly spiced to my order) and served rare. The vegetables were well presented individually. A good range of desserts was available and we picked a local ice cream and sorbet from Biggar which proved a lovely end to a very good meal. The wine list is quite extensive and with several choices by the glass. The service was attentive, efficient, and friendly. All very good value for a modest cost. The Car Park is easily manageable for old folk. I booked a repeat visit with no hesitation: The GA has taken a big step forward for food.

IT WAS OK FOR A PUB BUT NOT DOING BREAKFAST SEEMS A BIT STRANGE .AND TRYING TO BOOK WAS HARD WORK BECOUSE THEY DONT OPEN TILL 2PM . WE JUST STAYED 1 NIGHT . BUT THE NEXT MORNING WE DECIDED WE WOULD SEE IF WE COULD BOOK ANOTHER NIGHT NIT COULD NOT FIND ANYBODY TO ASK . . WE WAS THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING THEY WAS NO STAFF THERE AT ALL .WE WALK DOWN TO A CAFE IN THE VILLAGE AND KEPT RINGING BUT NO ANSWER WENT INTO EDINBURGH AND KEPT RINGING WHILE WE WAS THERE .STILL NO ANSWER SO WE ENDED UP DRIVING THE 200 MILE BACK ON . BUT ON THE PLUS SIDE 75 POUND A NIGHT IN THE EDINBURGH AREA IT'S NOT EXPENSIVE AND UNDER MEALS IN THE PUB RESTAURANT WHAT'S PROBABLY THE BEST MEALS WE HAVE EVER HAD THEY WAS NOT CHEAP BUT YOU DONT MIND THE PRICE WHEN IT IS THAT GOOD THE ONLY THING WE HAD TO EAT IN THE BAR BUT IT WAS A FRIDAY NIGHT AND WAS INTERESTING SEEING ALL THE LOCALS THERE IT IS A PROPER VILLAGE PUB . SO IN THE END IT WAS A NICE STAY BUT THERE NEED TO ANSWER THE PHONE . AND DO BREAKFAST THEN IT WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC .

Heading into Edinburgh from Yorkshire, feeling hungry, and we saw this pub so we spontaneously stopped off. Good decision! It is a lovely warm friendly pub with very hospital staff and we felt very warmly welcomed. We are vegetarians so held our breath when we looked at the menu, but a wonderful great variety of vegetarian options - and when the food cam it was absolutely delicious, and the price was fair - we are telling anyone taking this route to stop off at this pub (on the main road but in a nice community) and eat there rather than waiting until they arrive in Edinburgh. Thoroughly recommend and thank you to ALL the staff for a very very pleasant stop off on our journey!

Last minute booking. Very friendly welcome. Lovely, clean room. Dinner in the pub. Delicious food. Great atmosphere. No breakfast available but muffins, tea and coffee in our room. This was perfect for us as we wanted to be up and away early. Very pleasant stay.
