The Waterside Hotel

Room was nice and modern. Bathroom well stocked with large toiletries and towels. The bed was comfortable as were the assortment of pillows. Soundproof windows. Plenty lighting, mirrors and sockets. Food very good tho a bit slow between courses. Doesn't matter if Seaview or front facing, both lovely. All staff exceptionally nice. Only "fault" was their drinks prices. Cocktails almost £10. Under £15 in the shops bottle of wine was over £40 to buy in the hotel. Yes we would return and use the hotel's own special offer.

My son and his wife were on a short visit from Canada so we decided to take them, along with our daughter and teenage sons out to lunch. Your hotel has a good reputation in this area so we gave it a try for a family lunch with you on Saturday and all of us were very impressed. Great service, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff, pleasant decor, and above all excellent food. We shall be back!.

We stayed at the hotel on a dbb basis via hotel breaks. We had a warm reception on arrival, and was able to check in early. The room was large and bright, and very clean. The views out to Arran were amazing. We went for our dinner at 7 restaurant was busy but sat down quickly. My wife had the chicken tempura for starter I had the haggis pakora. The mains were spicy chicken and beef pie. Sorbet and sticky toffee pudding. The food was excellent, the only let down was the staff were slow at removing plates and providing next course. A few tables were left with plates on them for a good 30/40 minutes before been cleared. Breakfast in the morning we took in the room again this was excellent. We did ask for tea but this didn't arrive. Just small issues but nothing that puts me off. I will visit again hopefully when the sun is shining, and we can benefit from the beach. Would highly recommend.

Exceptional View from this hotel located on the beach. It was so welcoming, cosy and warm. The appearance and rooms were outstanding as were the staff who were very friendly and very accommodating. Food was amazing with plenty of choice. Can’t wait to return.

Our experience was mostly positive here. There were only a few things I noticed. We stayed in the spa suite and the room was amazing but for the amount it costs to stay here I think it needs a bit of updating. The couch has seen better days threadbare in parts and some stains and the cushions were all pulls. Our other issue was the room was really cold, the patio doors near the dressing table area don’t close properly so the draft was a lot, even when we closed the curtains they were moving with the wind coming through. There was also no easy access down to the beach, was told by reception to walk the perimeter of the building to get down but that was blocked by metal fencing and as there was a wedding on we couldn’t use the gate at the other side of the building. Asked a staff member in the car park if he knew a way down and he told us to try find a hole in the fence and squeeze through!! Ended up having to walk along the road for a bit until we got to another car park and could access the beach.

A last minute booking when we spotted a couple of nice days which we wanted to take advantage of given the poor summer this year. Chose a deluxe room and wasn’t disappointed. Has to be one of the largest rooms we have stayed in in the U.K., but the best bit was opening the door and seeing the view through the Juliet balcony to the garden, beach and Arran. Breathtakingly gorgeous! Bed was large and so comfy, nice table and chairs to sit and drink in the view and a jacuzzi bath! Loved the little inside/outside courtyard. Breakfast was very good, fruit, cereal etc and hot food cooked to order. Everything was clean and staff very really nice.

Had a lovely stay at The Waterside …can’t fault anything ! the location, staff friendliness the amenities ,the room ,the views ,the food ,what more can I say other than I wish we could have stayed longer …Thankyou to everyone at The Waterside for making our stay so memorable …Hopefully we will be back soon ..

Wholesome food, served piping hot. Lots of seating but lucky enough to get near the window. Service was better than previously experienced with staff on hand to assist. Great location with beach access and sitting area outside for the warmer weather.

We stayed here for 3 nights when we were in Scotland for the open. The hotel was fabulous. All of the staff were very friendly. We arrived early in the morning and they were more than happy to hold our luggage. Our room was clean. And the view from our room was magnificent. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in that part of Scotland!
