The Shark Bay Boutique Hotel & Spa

The views from this hotel are spectacular. The experience as a whole was however not so good. The description of the hotel and apartments on the website is not too clear. We ended up booking 2 apartments in stead of 1. When we arrived by quite unhelpful front desk staff that check in was at 15h00, we could wait in the foyer for 20 minutes no exeptions. We went to the apartment which turned out to be a beautiful space. The unit looked clean and well maintained at first glance. As we started using the apartment we realised that the unit looked clean but wasn't clean. The bedroom carpet was full of ingrained sand which and was not cleaned in a while. The showers did not drain properly because the outlets were clogged with hair. Being in winter we started a fire in the indoor fireplace. The seals on the unit were all perished. This resulted in the whole unit being smoked out and it took the whole evening to get the smoke and smell under control. We spent the wintersevening with doors and windows open to clear the smoke. Management came and inspected the fireplace and promised to have the seals replaced the next morning. Needless to say this did not happen and we heard nothing further for their staff or management. We left the keys of the second unit that we had already paid for at reception. They promptly let the unit out again withoutcontacting us to arrange for a refund or offer us a night's credit in future. The unit was thus sold twice.

Security sleeping in reception at night Building site ongoing on premises with notifying guests No water when we arrived Electricity tripping in entire hotel intermittently throughout our stay Fixtures and fittings rusted in room Paint peeling off walls Room looked likes it hadn’t been cleaned in months Very disappointing Just have a look at the pictures!!!

Worst experience ever! Stained towels and linen, room look like it needed a serious clean and smelled moldy. Fridge was wobbly and not working properly. Food under average and expensive. Receptionist unfriendly and unhelpfull. Manageres had a bad attitude whenever we complained.

We visitted the Spa for treatment and had lunch. Both were good experiences. The Spa Swedish Full Body Message Treatment was probably the best we have experienced. The food was good. The prices were reasonable. There was initialy challenges wioth contactin the Spa as the newtork in Langebaan is challenging. We tried calling, emails and WhatsApp messages. When we eventualy goyt to speak yo somebody we managed to make arrangeents for spa treatment,

The Spa is not up to standard , dirty and does not give you the luxury Spa feeling . Does not fit in with Hotel Image . Will not recommended or visit the Spa again ! For ex The dust bins ( in side) can see it is not clean for days The room divider is dirty … the ‘ stock room ‘ ( that is visible for clients) is in a mess . The Spa needs to up their game to stay in touch with competition.
