Ibaragi is such a special place—every detail is aesthetically spot-on. From the beautiful Garifuna-inspired artwork to the sweet tangerine scent, everything feels thoughtfully curated. The high ceilings in the rooms add a sense of openness and calm, and the staff are incredibly attentive and genuinely kind. It's a place that truly leaves an impression.

Five Stars – Truly One of the Best Hotel and Dive Operations! Ibagari Boutique Hotel exceeded all expectations! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay truly special—so welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making it hard to get up in the mornings! The food was absolutely outstanding—every meal felt like a treat. Honestly, there’s no need to leave the property if you don’t want to. Everything you need for a relaxing, luxurious getaway is right here. Duna Divers on property is hands-down one of the best dive shops I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. From start to finish, everything was seamless, safe, and incredibly enjoyable. The staff is exceptional—warm, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Travel time by boat to each dive was less than 15 minutes! Axel was phenomenal—so kind, professional, and informative about the local marine life and the beauty of the reef. Lucilla and Caleb are outstanding dive instructors who made every dive not just safe, but fun and memorable. The dives themselves were absolutely incredible. We saw an amazing variety of fish and vibrant coral—truly breathtaking. Every moment underwater was a reminder of how special this place is. Can’t recommend Duna Divers highly enough, and we absolutely hope to return soon for more adventures with this fantastic team!

Ibagari is a small, quiet, modern hotel which abounds with details that engage the senses, from the artwork to the local birds (an active hummingbird nest hung in the tree of the lobby, and a pair of macaws visited every afternoon), to the nightly sunsets...Oftentimes, we felt like we were the only guests, and staff were always attentive...many treating us like old friends, indulging me by allowing me to practice my Spanish...And the restaurant LunaMuna is topnotch! There was a great variety to choose from on the menu, and everything was so fresh! We ate only 4 meals (lunches) away during our 9 and 1/2 day stay. We brought our own snorkel gear, and would walk or take the water taxi to snorkel in West Bay...staff arranged our tours; bird watching with Javier at the Arboretum was the best! At night, LunaMuna provided occasional entertainment, including Garifuna musicians/dancers as well as live music. We had a most enjoyable cultural exhange and restorative visit. We miss you, Luis Escobar (concierge), Luis (pollo chuco), and Addis (concierge). And Martin's handsome smile will not be forgotten! XXO, Natalie & Jim Tip: Bring enough cash for the tours, otherwise you'll get hit with high credit card surcharges...and many tours only accept cash

Perhaps the best dive service we have ever had. The entire experience was fabulous and every guide was professional and very enjoyable. Axel runs a tight ship with major attention to a divers needs. As a bonus the hotel and staff were similarly delightful.
