Had a lovely spa day. 80 minute treatment by Ellie was fantastic. Lemon sorbet afterwards was a nice touch. 2 course meal included was amazing....lovely food & huge portions. Relaxation conservatory is lovely, although a little hot at times. Will definitely be returning

I booked the Manor House hotel for a 2 day break and wasn't disappointed, we were in the recently refurbished room 33, the room was very large and beautifully decorated the bathroom was also very large with a very big walk in shower. We had booked bed and breakfast and had no complaints about the food. We were given the history of the hotel by Daniel, who could not have been more helpful. The restaurant staff were also very attentive during the breakfast service. If I had one gripe, it would be the toaster it took an age, but we got there eventually. I would definitely recommend booking this hotel if you're looking for a break, we didn't have a chance to use the Spa but it also looked nice.

Disappointing ABBA Night at The Manor House – Poor Value for Money. I recently attended the ABBA Night event at The Manor House with a group of friends and, unfortunately, it was incredibly disappointing and poorly organised. While the live entertainment was enjoyable, everything else left much to be desired – especially given the £35 per head ticket price. The event was held in a large room with approximately eight rows of tables, each seating around 15 people. It felt extremely cramped and uncomfortable, made worse by the fact it was a very warm evening with no air conditioning. Instead, a few doors were left open in an attempt to ventilate the space – which had little effect. Guests were called up row by row for the buffet, and being on a row near the back meant we were among the final few to eat. By the time we reached the buffet, everything was cold. The buffet was advertised as Greek, but the offerings were far from authentic – no Greek salad, no olives, and they had run out of both feta and the meatballs in tomato sauce. Each guest was given two chicken souvlaki skewers which were stone cold and very bland, along with cold pitta bread that seemed as though it had just been pulled straight from the packet. A friend had to ask for an additional skewer to make up for the missing meatballs – which was reluctantly given. But we shouldn't have had to ask. That should have been offered automatically if part of the menu was unavailable. Drinks were overpriced, and once again – as I’ve experienced on previous visits – they ran out of ice halfway through the evening and said the ice machine broke (we are told this each time I've visted this place). It’s baffling that they continue to overlook such basic things, especially when they know they’re hosting a fully booked event. To make matters worse, the food wasn’t self-serve. It was plated and handed out by staff, meaning the venue had full control over portions. If that's the case, they should have ensured there was enough of every item to go around. It’s unacceptable to promote a buffet, restrict access to it, and then serve guests inconsistently – with many missing key components of the meal entirely. This seems to be a recurring pattern with The Manor House. A large group of friends booked their Christmas meal here in 2024 at £85 per person and reported that the mains came out at different times for the same table, and one guest's meal was completely forgotten – meaning they sat there while everyone else ate. This year, the Christmas meal has increased to £100 per head. Based on my experience – and theirs – The Manor House seriously needs to review its operations, particularly the front-of-house service and event planning. Staff need proper training to deliver a better standard of service. At the moment, it seems the focus is heavily on profit margins, with little regard for providing value or a quality experience to guests. The venue itself is in a convenient location and the setting is p

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price We had a very poor experience at the Manor House Hotel. The room, although clean, was pretty basic and far too hot, made worse by a towel heater that couldn’t be turned off. The bathroom was dated – more like something from an old budget hotel than what you’d expect for the price. The bed was also a nightmare. The mattress was thin and sagged to one side, so any chance of nodding off was ruined by constantly sliding over and hitting your head on the bedside table. Combined with the heat and noise, it made for a completely sleepless night. We were told there was no other room available. We had to open the tiny window just to try and cool the room, but that only let in loud music and shouting from a wedding that went on late into the night. When we phoned before booking, we weren’t told there would be a wedding on – had we known, we simply wouldn’t have booked. The breakfast was another disappointment – greasy and poor-quality, so unappetising we didn’t even bother eating it. For what we paid, the whole experience was very poor value for money. The hotel is not at all luxurious, and the surrounding area leaves much to be desired. We left early and emailed afterwards to raise a complaint, but have been completely ignored. Really poor customer service. We won’t be returning. Given we couldn’t get the very basic - a good nights sleep - and despite offering a chance to rectify the poor experience, we have been ignored, so I can’t justify any more than a 1/5.
