Room The room was a good size and well laid out, with adequate space to move around comfortably. Everything was clean and well-maintained, giving a pleasant and tidy first impression overall. Bathroom A decent size and kept clean. Water pressure was strong, which is always a plus. However, there was a notably unpleasant smell in the bathroom throughout the stay, which detracted from the experience. The shower curtain setup is not ideal — a fixed screen would be a significant improvement. Bed Exceptionally comfortable. A genuinely good night’s sleep — the bedding and mattress quality were well above what you might expect at this price point. Hotel Excellent location — convenient, accessible, and secure. The property felt safe and well-managed, which adds real peace of mind, particularly for solo travellers or overnight business stays. Customer Service Standout. Upon arrival, an incorrect room was allocated, but the issue was identified and resolved within minutes — no fuss, no delays. That kind of efficient, no-nonsense response is exactly what good hospitality looks like. Bar Good. Solid offering for a Travelodge — perfectly adequate for an evening drink or a wind-down after a long day. Late Check-Out Late check-out was available and taken up — a welcome flexibility that made the stay even more convenient. Overall: A reliable, comfortable stay with a great location and responsive staff. The bathroom smell is the one area that needs attention, but it doesn’t overshadow an otherwise positive experience. Would return.

Stayed one night in this Travelodge. Was quite surprised by room, which was given. Very clean room and bathroom, night time was very very quiet, even heater was in room, air conditioner was working perfectly. Was surprised because once we stayed in Travelodge near Stansted Airport, (last November), with absolutely horrible experience, when was -2C and wasn't heating at all. So in Welwyn Garden City was all perfect..Thank you.

Had 3 nights here 2 in room 101 and 1 in room110.Both very nice rooms but 101 was quite noisy due to traffic of people in the corridor but we had 3rd night in 110 which was a bigger room on the same side but a lot quieter. The staff were friendly and helpful ,we didn’t eat there but we had a drink in the bar which was ok . Well placed right in the centre of town and only a short walk round the corner from the Howard centre for secure parking . Would have been nice to have a hair dryer in the room but it’s a budget hotel so no real issue Would recommend the giggling squid for good Thai food and trios for breakfast both near Sainsbury’s across the road

We booked this hotel at the last minute as our Airbnb in Potters Bar had cancelled and we were due to attend a concert at Knebworth within days. Being so close to the venue and right on the direct line into London and having rooms available still, we werent expecting much. The town centre location really is amazing, big public car park round the corner, cafe's, restraunts, shops and train station right on the doorstop and generally just a fabulous area. The hotel was easy to find and check in smooth. We were stying for 4 nights as we also had a gig in London and thought it better to stay in one place. Our room was on level 2 and the room was very large with plenty of space. There wasn't much storage in the room for a 4 night stay but for the price you pay it was perfect. It was clean and the bathroom spotless and oh so very quiet at night. We were extremely tired after our busy days and the sleep quality was amazing. We didn't use the bar and restaurant area as there really is some amazing places to eat and drink in Welwyn Garden City and we wanted to explore whilst staying at the hotel. All the staff we encountered were frindly and accomodating and we really did enjoy our stay more than we thought we would. The closeness to the train station was brilliant and we managed to get to both of the gigs and back with ease and spent a day at Hatfeild house which is one stop away.

The air-conditioning is broken inn over half the hotel staff are not being heard by head office to fix it just told to hand out fans which blow around hot air. Staff are lovely but unfortunately can't resolve the problem. Been told the air-conditioning has been broken for a year now. Head office need to sort this out. I refuse to stay again until this is fixed

Myself and my partner booked one night hereafter checking it had air con, as we wanted a cool nights sleep during the heatwave in the uk. We paid £129.99. When we arrived we noticed a poorly written note on the reception saying the air con wasn’t working. It was only when we asked about this the staff said yes it’s stopped working. The reception itself had fully functioning air con though! We thought we would see how bad it was… it was roasting in the rooms and corridors. We went back to reception and asked for a refund and told we could only get 50% back as we had “used” the room. Well we had to enter the room to know if it was bearable or not. We took the 50% back and have written to customer services in order to try and get the rest. We then sought another Travelodge nearby and surprisingly they had the same issue. Air con functioning in the reception but not the rooms. So it can’t just be a coincidence. We would think this is a Travelodge thing where they have been made to turn off the air con as it’s too expensive. Very disappointing

Eszter was brilliant, she cooked an unbelievable burger 10 out of 10. Abhi poured us a cracking Guinness and was super friendly

Mostly the bed. Lacked any table next to bed. The room was huge. It was a disability room and definitely easy to get around.
