Handicap room is on 2nd floor & quite a walk from elevators. “They’re all on the second floor, Don’t ask me why” Bathroom had a low toilet with rails attached that are so wobbly they could fall off. A haphazard attempt to make a regular room handicapped. There was a continuous drip drip drip noise from the ceiling in the bathroom. Went to front desk to ask for a different room & was told “we don’t have any”. Drip noise is from “all the rain we had & need a new roof” Asked for a refund & gal said she couldn’t do refunds or she’d get fired. This place is very old & in serious need of a complete overhaul!

The first room we were checked into, the bathroom ceiling was literally covered in black mold! The TV also didn’t work, but it didn’t matter because I immediately requested a new room. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful and switched us right away. The next room was fine, although the TV didn’t work in that one either! We were exhausted from traveling all day though and didn’t feel like switching again so just dealt with it. We also never got a WiFi password. My son loved the pool, although it was extremely cloudy. Breakfast was great, large selection. Overall just an okay stay.

I do not recommend this hotel if you have other options in Escanaba. There were two air-conditioning units in our room and neither one worked properly so it was very hot and humid. Room was very outdated and just felt dirty. Bed and bathroom though was clean. The breakfast also left a lot to be desired.

Oh my gosh. This Choice property is way, way below Choice standards. It’s so run down. Check in was ok but then when we got to the room, it reeked of marijana smell. It was so bad we ask to move to another room. They did move us but the new room had torn wallpaper, holes in the walls, and hairdryer was broken. What a disaster!!! The toaster in the breakfast room was broken. Attention to detail is non-existent. Come on Choice, where is the hotel inspector.

The staff was friendly. The pool and fitness areas were superb. Plenty of pool towels. This hot tub had super strong jets and is quite large. The pool area was spacious, lots of tables and chairs. Breakfast was somewhat lacking, even for a quality inn. It was a Wednesday, so not sure why they were out of some basic breakfast items. But the gal working the breakfast was very nice. There were plenty of tables available. See posted pictures :(
