We stayed here with friends Friday into Saturday, while waiting to meet friends on the Friday we had lunch just a couple of snacks, these were lovely so expectations for the evening meal was high, sadly disappointed, two of the menus we were given were out of date, when asked how the lamb came we were told rolled it was from that and looked horrible, I felt the staff were boarding on the rude side, we stayed over the room was okay every dark and shabby looking in places, the shower didn’t work properly, our friends room was equally uninspiring, breakfast was just okay, overall very disappointing for the price tag, our friends recommended the Globe as had stayed before but they were equally disappointed and felt bad for recommending, Read less

The food was good . 40 minutes wait for a drinks order and - had to go to the bar to ask where the drinks were An hour after arriving the food came. We booked a week ago. Th staff there were minimal - not their fault. I did pay the service charge but alerted them to convey our disappointment to management - we may be tourists but wouldn’t eat there if here again if this is standard service.

I popped into the Globe a few days before our reservation to confirm that we were a party of 4 with a baby in a buggy and would like a table at the back of the restaurant due to the expected hot weather, the lady confirmed that this was ok and that they always accommodate requests with young children. On arrival we were told that the only available table ( at 6:15pm) was in the bar area even though there were free tables in the rear of the restaurant. We were then shown to a table in the bar in direct sunlight with no blinds which was sweltering. It took quite some time to order drinks and starters followed by main courses. The drinks eventually arrived followed by the starters which took quite some time to be cleared….. we then waited a further 45/50 minutes for the main courses, my son’s cold chips were accompanied by what can best be described as a chargrilled burger and my chicken schnitzel looked appetising but on cutting it in half was uncooked. After returning the dishes and requesting the bill we eventually received it with a discount and an apology. However if you have a chef that chargrills burgers and serves chicken Raw it’s not great and we will not return!!!

We stayed at the Arch House part of the hotel rooms and we would return and recommend to others. The room was really clean and looked like it had been recently refurbished. Although our double room was quite small, it had a lovely communal area with sofas and a dining table, and a garden patio with tables. Very friendly staff each time I rang, thank you!

Food and restaurant good. Room tired needs updating. Stifling hot with antiquated noisy fan. Can’t open room window as it overlooks roof terrace with people eating and drinking 6 inches away. They could well be in your room! Informed the manager on the second night of our stay and she said ‘leave it with me’. She did absolutely nothing so it happened again on our third night! Would not recommend to stay especially in room 6.

Average room for price - bed springs present. food in restaurant limited for pescatarians. Breakfast very good though. Staff lovely - welcoming and bubbly. Great location.
