Old Orleton Inn

We'd decided to stay outside Telford when playing in a sporting tournament there and my husband found The Old Orleton Inn in Wellington, just a 15 minute drive away from the Telford International Centre and a pleasant village with a lively centre. This lovely old inn has recently had an update and 10 rooms created as part of the Inn Collection where we've stayed happily before. They've retained all the original features including beautiful vaulted ceilings throughout and our room was a lovely example. It was also very clean, very comfortable and so were our beds. There is no breakfast available here but there is a very generous hamper of breakfast items including cereal, fruit, nuts and granola. There was also water, milk and yoghurt in the fridge so we were perfectly happy with that. There is a restaurant attached to the inn and, frankly, we felt we'd found a real gem. The chef there not only knows what he's doing but does it beautifully. The first night of our three night stay we both opted for pate and toast followed by pork belly. The main course was truly outstanding - a large piece of belly pork with a crispy and delicious skin and plenty of vegetables. We were so impressed my husband asked the chef how he got it so crispy and he was happy to share his knowledge. The second night (we were very late arriving back from the Centre but they still served us) we tried the Lamb Henry - another delicious masterpiece of meat and vegetables with plenty of tasty gravy. On the third night, we went back to the pork belly (although there were plenty of other tempting options on the menu) for a last memorable meal at the Inn. Throughout, the staff were not only quick and professional but friendly and helpful and really made our stay enjoyable. Would we return? No doubt about it - I can still taste that pork belly and it's drawing us back!

Had a lovely meal at old orleton Jordans restaurant,both had chicken Skewers, excellent service and food very well presented and nice and hot. The restaurant could do with tidying up decoration. The booking procedure needs some adjustments but overall very good.

Arriving at the Inn we were made welcome by the friendly staff, and shown to our beautifully appointed room ( we had room 5 ) which came with gold wallpaper and a dark wood 4 post bed, with lighting that complemented the mood of the room. The modern bathroom was a nice surprise with a double ended deep whirlpool bath. Along with our super comfy bed and soft white towels, we had a tasty looking breakfast basket to go along with a brew kit.

Great hotel Lovely room. Breakfast basket was a really nice touch.
