East Sussex National Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa

Had a wonderful afternoon tea here yesterday. Reception staff were lovely when i booked it and on the day the food was so nice and the staff were very helpful and attentive. We were not rushed and didn't feel pressurised to leave. Will definitely be back for the spa day!!

Lovely day at Spa with Afternoon tea. Nice pool, sauna, jacuzzi & steam rooms. Fluffy towels & robes provided Excellent afternoon tea, sandwiches, hot scones & cream. Bite sized cakes, decorated for Halloween, high quality food served by Cody.

Lovely night away with my partner on a golf and spa weekend. Hotel is clean and well kept, rooms are really nice, we got upgraded to a family room which was huge. Spa is clean and nice cushioned sunbeds around the edge. I had a 25 minute back massage and I can honestly say it was one of the best I have ever had (sorry I didn’t get my therapists name but she was fantastic). Dinner was lovely although drinks and food is very expensive. We were served by Cody who was brilliant, really good service always with a smile and made us feel really at ease. The bar staff could learn a lot from Cody about customer service as they were very miserable and borderline rude. My partner was meant to be playing golf today but unfortunately because of the weather the course was closed, because of this they gave us a voucher to come back and use the golf course again which was a lovely touch, the lady in the golf pro shop was really nice and helpful. Also the lady at the driving range was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the course. Overall a lovely stay in a clean hotel and spa, shame about the weather for the golf but we would definitely return!

We arrived at check to reception who were very helpful and friendly. We booked the classic room which was much better than we expected with an incredible view from the balcony. The room was a good size and the WiFi was strong. Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable and a little too firm for our liking. I woke several times in the night with a bad back. However the shower was absolutely fantastic and would give that 10/10! The spa was nice, swimming pool nice and big and spacious for a good swim. The sauna was not very hot due to door not closing properly, however the sauna in the health spa across the other side was much better. All other rooms within spa were lovely although would’ve liked another hot tub as it was quite small and always fully occupied. The food in the bar was somewhat disappointing and took a very long time to come. I ordered the Caesar salad which had far too much sauce for my liking and I couldn’t finish it. My mum had the “green one” which she enjoyed. The food at dinner in the restaurant was disappointing and the pork main course was far too tough and chewy for both of us. We found no fault with the service staff and they were very attentive and friendly. The drinks in the bar took a long time to arrive but this was due to a wedding party and this was explained to us. Breakfast was good and there was a lot of variety. The eating area is airy and spacious and again staff very friendly and attentive. Overall this is a good hotel and I would be happy to come back for a day spa but unfortunately not for the night as the beds were not comfortable for us.

Booked a spa day for my friends birthday. The pool area was very noisy and the pool cold. I’m sure there was a pool on the treatment side on a previous visit or at least a jacuzzi back in 2017. We had also booked a treatment and afternoon tea. Treatment was ok and when I told the reception we were ready for our afternoon tea we were told to get dressed and go over to the main restaurant in the hotel. Asked if we could have it in the cafeteria area and was told we had to have it in the main restaurant. The restaurant manager was very pleasant and made us feel welcome. Gave us a complimentary glass of bubbles each and supplied my friend with a plate with Happy Birthday and a couple of macaroons. We left the hotel didn’t go back to the spa and just went home early. Much lack of communication on their part. Not a great experience at all and came home very disappointed.

We had a package from buy a gift for couples. We had an amazing time and the bedroom was stunning ! Will be telling my friends and family of this amazing place been here three times now and come every time after Christmas as family think it’s amazing : I just wanted to put a review on here mainly for the waitress name Klicoletau for our food. She was just amazing and made the whole experience, and felt it was important her manager/boss sees this as she was amazing from start to finish. Thank you so much for making this the best experience ever xxx

We came to have cream tea here for my Nan’s 90th Birthday and had a wonderful time. The staff were so helpful and welcoming from the start. A big shout out to Cody for going above and beyond to make my niece and Nan enjoy their special birthdays! Food was delicious and even had goodie bags to bring home what we couldn’t finish! Definitely would recommend

Had a lovely weekend stay with another couple, thoroughly enjoyed the spa and its facilities, food was excellent and Megan went above and beyond with the service she gave us, hotel room just needs a little Tlc, as looking a bit neglected, and there needs to be a noise policy, as some guests were chatting loudly on balcony at 3.30 in the morning 😀
