Days Inn by Wyndham Watertown

Everywhere they are listed as pet friendly. This is not totally true. You may stay with a pet, but the restrictions given do not meet the pet friendly claim. Pets are not allowed on the beds, Pet cannot be left in the room unattended and not allowed n the lobby. We have stayed many places with our 20 pound deaf dog with no complaints. We have fully enclosed pet carrier that we always use if we must leave them in the room. We could not even go to breakfast together because we could not leave the pet in the room unattended. We were able find a restaurant with outside seating so we could go to dinner with family. So don’t believe their claim of pet friendly. It is not.

We thought this hotel would be a minimalist-style hotel, but we were wrong. The room was spacious and had a full sized refrigerator, stove top and kitchen sink. The cabinets are spacious, but there are no utensils or cookware so bring your own. The sleeping area had comfortable mattresses and the walls were nicely decorated with pictures that reflected the city of Watertown. No breakfast is served, but there’s a pantry in the lobby where you can purchase items or go to McDonalds just outside of the parking lot. Our room was right by the elevator even though I had asked for a quiet room away from the elevator, but we never heard a sound, even though the hotel was fairly full. The doors do not slam shut, but they close very quietly, so I’m sure that helped. This hotel is right across the street from the Terry Redlin Art Center and is a great value for the money.

We stayed in a King room on the top floor. The staff was very welcoming, helpful, and a wonderful example of what great customer service should be. They should be commended. Check in and check out went smoothly. The wifi worked great. The room and all areas of the hotel were updated, very clean, and well decorated. The vanity is outside the bathroom which I don't prefer, but it was the most well lit vanity of any hotel I've ever been in, so that was a bonus. There was a microwave and fridge w/ the fridge having a separate little freezer. Loved that so we could freeze our ice bottles for the cooler and not have to mess with ice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast had a good variety of hot items, fruit, and pastries. The pool was cold, but we loved the hot tub. The location was convenient to the HWY, and we never heard any noise. We chose this hotel because they have a hot tub, but we loved the hotel as a whole, and would definitely stay here again.

I looked at the reviews and pictures before booking and it seems the hotel pictures have been enhanced with AI. The whole hotel is dirty. We would have checked into a different hotel if there had been any availability in town. The walls looked like someone had peed on them or thrown something else on them, not only in the bathroom but the main room as well. None of the outlets on the lamps worked so had to unplug them to use any outlets to charge phones or run a cpap. I won't ever be coming back.
