Great location and river views. Clean good size rooms if a bit plain, a picture on the wall would make it a bit nicer. The bed was way too soft and not great for your back. Food was passable but not great in both the bar and restaurant. Dried out chicken burger, superfood salad very poor. Chowder was nice. Service was poor but not from the lack of trying by the staff, just not enough of them and younger ones not trained. Breakfast basic for a 4 star and again poor service, had to go looking for tea and toast both days to get some before ending our meal, needs to be offered when you get the table. No chilled area for the yoghurt/ fruits which is a bit of a concern given food standards requirements - yoghurt can not be left out of a chilled area for hours.

Caroline and her staff looked after us for the weekend. We had 5 rooms booked for 2 nights for our family with two evening meals. It certainly paid off going and booking directly with the hotel. They gave us a fantastic deal and the rooms were amazing. The food in the hotel bar and main restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was amazing too. This was our second time staying in The Tower, and we have booked again later in the year. The leisure centre is small but adequate and the pool was nice. The staff from the front of house, bar, restaurant, and housekeeping were all lovely. The car park is too small and there are not enough parking spaces but when they have built their extension which includes a multi-storey car park it will be great and won't be an issue. Thanks again, as my family had a great weekend and we will be back.

Stayed in the Tower multiple times towards the end of 2024. I think about 15 times, always for one night, sometimes two. Couldn’t fault breakfast, lunch or dinner at the hotel. Always good food. Restaurant and bar food very good. Stayed in a lot of rooms. They are all to a similar design and style. Could of bottles of water for you in the room. Rooms facing the river are newer and some have balconies. These rooms had Nespresso machines and were a real treat when o got allocated them. Pool, gym and sauna are good. Changing rooms could do with a make over, a little tied. Location of hotel is perfect. Can’t wait to see this hotel when the extension is completed. Parking to the rear which is limited and first come first serve. Always got a space though so it works. All in its a solid 4 star hotel which makes an effort to go beyond that.

Hi I booked the Tower hotel as a surprise for my husband for his 60th birthday. When we arrived the room look lovely , food was nice but the lack of sleep because of the noise from the air-condition in our room was unreal. The phone in the room wasn't working . Next morning I went to the receptionist and spoke to her she said if that goes off room will be cold I asked for a heater which we were happy to use. Because we didn't sleep at night we were fit for nothing during the day and tried to have a sleep only for the work men to start drilling this went on all day. That night as we in the room the air-condition starting off again twice that evening I had to go down and ask for it to be turned off. A manager came up and had a look at the phone and said one of the work men had unplugged it . He offered to move us at 9.30 that night we were heading home first thing in the morn so stayed where we were. The next morning we spoke to Caroline but felt we got nowhere. The following week the hotel shut down because of the work the workmen were carrying out. In my opinion it should not have been open while the work was carried out. No matter what I paided I still paided for bed and breakfast which I didn't receive.

Staff were so kind and helpful when I felt unwell during our stay, especially Caroline and her colleague on the front desk. Support shown was amazing, our room view was lovely overlooking Reginald’s Tower and breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend.

I am a regular visitor to Waterford and I love this hotel. Michael O'Neill, the General Manager and his staff are a credit to the place. The lobby is relaxing with beautiful decor and the staff are friendly and helpful. All the facilities are well maintained and the hotel gives a warm welcome vibe when you enter. The bar and restaurant has plenty to choose from and in the morning, the breakfast area upstairs boasts beautiful views. I enjoyed two nights over the Christmas period when the Winterval festival was on. The hotel is in a great location to experience all that Waterford has to offer. It never disappoints everytime I return and I am always warmly welcomed back It's the little touches that make this hotel worth a trip. As a solo traveller predominantly, this is an ideal hotel for a relaxing solo trip or whatever your reason for staying should be.

Not a 4 star hotel at all, carpet had stains and bathroom was poor, no parking, two bath towels ( 3 guests ) bath mat very stain. Traffic and outside noise was awful. Breakfast was cold, restaurant staff , waitresses and restaurant manager very helpful. Pool area old but was nice experience with nice staff. Front of house and bar staff not a bit friendly. € 210 for 1 adult and two teens. Location was great , but that was it really, when you go away you expect a little better than home. It really made me appreciate my own home. When I did complain the hotel refunded me €50. I wasn’t complaining to receive a refund, because I have a lot of experiences in the hospitality section . And there should be no excuses, busy time of the year. I won’t be back.
