Kept waiting for our room , the hotel does not sell alcohol at all, the food at breakfast was boring ,not hot and the choice was terrible, nobody bothered to eat dinner at the hotel ,during our stay, the rooms or villas as they are called are ok, but full of ants , we even had to change our room because of this , the ac worked fine ,but electricity here starts and stops when it feels like it cleaning the rooms consisted of changing towels , the bedsheet ,never got changed in 10 days. the bed was too hard to sleep properly, needs a complete update

There are some scary reviews of this place, but I found it nice and decent value for money. Villas have a/c, a fridge, big verandas, perfectly clean and serviceable, the resort looks attractive, the pool is a good size. Breakfast also good. I’d come back. You can walk to the marine park or get a motor taxi to the other beaches. Only improvements would be if the place sold water…I was surprised not to have this option. It’s no fun arriving home to remember you forgot to get a bottle and the nearest shop is 10-15 baking hot minutes walk away. The desk guy did offer to send someone for drinks if I needed them, but he wasn’t always around. Also staff could be a bit more welcoming and friendly, esp towards solo travelers, but I’m starting to think that’s Watamu all round.
