Days Inn by Wyndham Wall

This was the first stop on our family vacation. We spent very little time at the hotel. Everything was fine--nothing wrong, but nothing great. The one issue occurred in the morning at breakfast when the waffle mix and butter were both empty. The girl at the front desk was in no hurry to help with that. Upon our second request, she said, "I think we're out," which I found interesting since there were 2.5 hours of breakfast time left. She eventually brought more waffle mix and butter out for us.

Was everything perfect with our stay? No. Were they perfectly thoughtful and hit all the right marks? Yes! Down-sides for us: We were in a 2nd floor room, middle of the hallway, and the elevators were out. Complimentary breakfast items are offered, but the lobby and seating areas are too small to accommodate all the guests. The property itself is an older building. BUT, I’m giving this place great marks because the gentleman who checked us in was so kind and thoughtful, he mentioned the “down-sides” before I had to discover them on my own, and offered good information and attempted to accommodate. He offered coupons for complimentary bites at a nearby restaurant to compensate for the lack of on-site dining space. He offered instructions on the best place to park to navigate to the room. And, while the building is older and the halls seem dated, the room itself was spacious, updated, everything in good order, and CLEAN! It is obvious this place is being well maintained and cared for. We couldn’t have asked for anything more for our short stay in Wall.

Booked 2-double queen rooms, only to arrive with our 8 people and be told there was only 1 available. No email; no phone call ahead of time. To “accommodate” they can give us a king bed room instead at “no extra charge.” Did they have a roll-away? No. Do we have another option? No, unless we want to cancel our reservations, which she added, “I’m on the phone with my manager over there (points to hotel across lot) and there are no other rooms available in Wall.” So after driving 10+ hrs, our choice was to accept that our room was “given away”, pay the same price for one less bed (though bigger), or roll the dice and cancel and drive on, The breakfast was surprisingly nice though, and the local gentleman working the front desk in the morning was incredibly helpful. Took his recommendation and did the notch trail hike. Breathtaking!

Very nice, clean, comfortable hotel. Room was big, staff was very friendly and courteou and breakfast was good.
