Spruce Hill Inn & Cottages

Very rustic. Individual cottages, although fine but needs better bedding, sheets, toiletries. It was clean and adequate towels. The grounds around the cottages are poorly maintained with high weeds, our deck was very shaky, grill rusted and dirty with cigarette butts. You could cook if desired with mini fridge, microwave, sink area. There were 2 plates, mugs, silverware. No glasses. No place to check in- we called and a very nice woman told us which cottage and brought us some tourist magazines. Acceptable for a quick stay and. Near hiking or in winter next to a very small ski area. If they maintained this better, and upped the quality it would be a quaint place to stay. Did enjoy the outside deck.

Please update we loved this but now do not. This was our 2nd time at this property and a different cabin. Unimpressed. First time we loved it. This time our key was not in our room so had to wait until the next day. Our heater ran non stop so our room was HOT. The thermostat obviously didn’t work. The person staying in the other side was knocking on the wall at 2am so I thought someone was in our room. We left at 3:30 am 2nd night because it was so noisy and uncomfortably HOT. I didn’t say anything because it was 2am and I wasn’t bugging someone in the middle of the night as I was leaving for that very reason. Just a weird stay. It desperately needs updated. Just not what I expected.

DON’T DO IT!!! The address has you pull up to a gravel road to an abandoned building with trash all around it… after we looped that building we went back to the road and traveled up a hill to a loop of 1/2 cabins. My husband was livid about the address to the empty building then up the hill to shabby looking cabins. There was no where to check in. Some random car pulled up to us to tell us how to check in and at that point there was no way in hell my husband was going to stay there. The pictures of the property looked as if they were taken when the cabins we built, not it’s current condition. I can’t speak to the condition of the cabins inside because we were not willing to cross the threshold. Very upset about the amount of money we spent to arrive to a dump like this

It's a NO from me Dogg. Pictures are deceiving. Seems like this place hasn't been fully taken care of for years & almost looked abandoned - We booked last min. for my hubbys birthday. When we arrived we didn't know where to go, so we drove around. There were no signs. We went back down the drive to the house and 2 peolple were pulling out of the driveway looking at us like we didn't belong there. Hubs asked where we were supposed to check in & they said to follow them. So we followed them to our cottage & they gave me a number to call if we needed anything. We spent the majority of our night texting the number & trying to get a Wifi signal. It never worked which was tough with 2 kids. We had horrible cell service and had to put our phones in a certain spot to get a signal. The place looked nice at first but we soon realised it wasn't very clean. It smelled like cheap air freshener, even the beds. It was so strong. We wanted to air it out but multiple windows didn't have screens, which is so dangerous. Toilet hadn't been cleaned, tub jets were filthy , cobwebs & spiders, small TV, dirty coffee maker & only McDs mocha flavored coffee? It was so hot. The air was on full blast but it was LOUD & made weird sounds that woke us up throughout the night. Uncomfortable beds, thin pillows & only a sheet & thin quilt, freezer was dirty and had an opened coke & opened old bag of ice in it. Didn't have the time or patience to complain over the phone when we checked out so we just got the heck out of there.

Cozy little place near race track I'm not sure what the proper way to check in is. The address takes you to an abandoned looking building. I didn't go up to it. I elected to call from the driveway after seeing no apparent signs or indicators of where to go. This was approximately 1830 (6:30 pm). When I called I eventually got the host. They seemed a bit flustered and confused. They told me a cabin number and said they would meet me there. It appeared as they were there and cleaning/installing some dangling lights but the bed and getting the room ready for us. Again this is very late in the evening compared to typical 3-4 check in. It's a very awkward meeting. We go in and realize we didn't have a key. I ask about it and am told they will bring one. I wait around for 30 min and then decide to just go about my agenda. The jacuzzi tub was great. Need was pretty good too. The reason I think they were just installing those hanging lights is one, when I went to put my hand under the pillow I stuck a twist tie and two the two beside lamps had no bulbs in them. there were various bulbs missing throughout the room. The TV controller also barely worked, maybe batteries? Eventually I got a message saying I could get my key on the way out in the morning. We ended up leaving the place unlocked as or departure was very early. Later that day I received a message saying the find the door unlocked and left a key when they attempted to deliver the key. We left the next morning.
