Moxy Washington, DC Downtown

Downtown Washington
The Moxy came highly recommended for a recent stay to DC. We read all the positive reviews online, so decided to take a chance for a three-night stay. Big mistake and we will never stay there again. The stay was so bad that we cancelled the final night and went to another Marriott hotel. Pros Good location -- close to the Metro and within walking distance to the Convention Center, Chinatown and lots of restaurants and shops Cons Horrible customer service --front desk staff are rude and terse and dismissive at best. When I checked in, they grabbed my credit card and identification, handed me my card and went back to chatting with friends. When I asked followed up questions, I was met with indifference. We realized that hotel was crowded, but you did not feel welcome. No recognition of being a Bonvoy Elite member. If you did not inquire about your welcome gift, extended check out times etc. you were completely out of luck Tiny rooms are the understatement of the year. This may be fine as a solo traveler, but with two people in the rooms were entirely too small. We were in the elevator, and everyone was complaining about the rooms. One person was yelling at their secretary for booking them at this hotel. The rooms were small, and the shower and bathroom were in the middle of the room with a glass screening. If you are not staying with a partner or someone you are very close to you, the person can see you showering through the glass Beds were too hard and made for a comfortable night sleep. WIFI was having major issues and every time we called downstairs, they seemed annoyed that you were calling. If you need to get important work done and do not want to use your phone as a hot spot, this is not the place for you. Overall, we could not wait to get out of there and cancelled the third night because we could not take it anymore.
