Marriott Marquis Washington, DC

Downtown Washington
The location is good and the rooms are good. However, when I asked what the destination fee was at checkout (it was a polite question), the black woman at the reception was very rude and told me that it was originally included, and she got angry at me and my husband, asking if I didn't read it when making a reservation, which was embarrassing. Another man came to explain and my curiosity was answered, but I was not in a good mood about the trip that day. The day before, another Marriott hotel was very friendly, so I was even more surprised. This was my first experience like this while staying at an American hotel, so it was perceived as racial discrimination. I will never use it again.

The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of the White House, George Washington University, and subway stations. Hotel facilities are complete, gym is good, front desk service is good, check-in and check-out procedures are convenient, you will choose next time.

Penn Quarter
The hotel has a good location in DC. We spent four days in the hotel, and we explored the central part of DC (National Hall, Washington Monument, White House, Capitol Hill, and many Smithsonian Museums) by walk (all less than 30-minute walk, which is reasonable) most of the daytimes. The front desk ladies were welcoming and friendly. One thing deserves to be complained about is that the soundproofing of the hotel was not good. We hear nextdoor’s customers talking and street car sirens. But our overall experience is good.

Except for breakfast which is not a buffet and only a consumption quota is given, everything else is OK
