Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC

Good location and experience.

Super old building. All of the rooms with 2 beds are on the garden level. I was uncomfortable being on the street level and the staff was very accommodating when I asked to be moved to an upper level (I didn’t need 2 beds) Excellent location.

This hotel was like a palace with its high ceilings, architecture, and old age charm. The valets were so friendly and polite on my arrival and took care of my car and luggage. I am an IHG member so check-in was a breeze and very nice. My room was beautiful and temp control was easy to handle. I always enjoy the check- in texts to see if I needed anything! Heard a lot of noise from rooms and hallway, but was warned there was a wedding, and it subsided after evening set in. My only wishes were trash bags in the one trash can and even though I did take my Do Not Disturb sign off .my door, there was no maid service on Sunday. TV service went out during a storm, but was eventually restored. I would definitely return to this hotel, it was a pleasant stay!

Will be staying for 4 nights next week. Wanted to give a shout out to Allen in reservations. Helped me change my stay around. Could not have been nicer. Really looking forward to our stay.

The pros: This hotel has a beautiful exterior, and the location is fantastic. Museums and restaurants are a short walk away, and there is a metro stop close by as well. The cons: the hotel is quite old. The air conditioning can be a bit loud, and I was unable to consistently get hot water in my shower (at best it was warm, but it took a while to get to that) (this was less of a problem since I was visiting in the summer, when DC is hot and humid).
