The water heats up very slowly. There's something missing but it's not worth much. It's a common household medicine that you carry on your way home, only to find out that your medicine bag is lost. The receptionist provides good service.

Low quality furniture, the decoration looks like it was done by migrant workers.

Convenient location in downtown DC close to many tourist sites. Room & hotel was very clean. The 2nd floor had great seating for breakfast in a contemporary setting. I recommend.

Let me start by saying I am a Hyatt loyalist. I've been a globalist for 9 or 10 years. I like Hyatt so much that I hate to publicly say anything bad about them. This terrible experience at Hyatt House DC Convention Center won't change my feeling towards Hyatt. However, if it werent' for the long track record of good will, this experience would have turned me off of Hyatt for sure. The biggest issue is that there's no one on site that cares. No actual manager. Some issues: 1. Housekeeping simply will not come. I called, I personally wen to ask the front desk, I asked the cleaning staff directly, and I texted the HH DC Convention center phone number. Most nights of our 7-day stay, they would not come. 2. Bathroom is a disaster (see photo). You get soaked when you turn on the sink. The shower floods the room. The videos I have are worse. Shocked that Hyatt would allow its rooms to be like this with water flying everywhere. 3. No blackout curtains in the bedroom. Fully light at 6am. Hyatt said its the contractors fault and there's nothing they can do. We did our best to fix it ourselves by borrowing blankets and buying binder clips. I lifted my wife on my shoulders to install (see photos). 4. Breakfast is chaotic. Maybe to be expected for a Hyatt House. I pretty much skip the breakfast but when coffee and hot water run out 15 minutes before close of breakfast and they don't replace it (on some days, not all days), I just feel that's what I'd get from some motel, not a Hyatt. 5. I would never have written this review if there was a manager on site. I texted and talked to the hourly front staff. They just didn't care. I'm not saying they were not working hard—many of the staff were doing their jobs. But with no manager caring about the overall service, the service level was dismal. When I expressed some of the concerns above, such as the video of the water flooding the bathroom, your front desk staff asked me if I knew the water flooded so badly why did I turn it on so hard. We tried very hard to remember not to turn the faucets on too hard. But is that normal for a hotel? And to be blamed for it when we report a design flaw to the staff? I know they recently rebranded and maybe will fix this. But I feel we had a very bad experience. I waited a couple weeks after checkout before posting this because I really do think Hyatt as a brand is the best there is among big hotels. But as I continue to reflect on it, this hotel brings down the Hyatt name, and since no one cared the week we were there, I do think I should mention it publicly via this post.
