I was met with a warm greeting when I arrived at this hotel. In fact, everyone was friendly during my 2-day stay. Although Providence is a very beautiful city, this hotel is in a dregsy and depressed suburb with virtually no amenities, such as restaurants. Since the hotel doesn’t provide breakfast, I wanted to get breakfast food for the room. I went to a nearby Aldi’s, but it was just barely a grocery store. It was perhaps one-quarter the size of a normal supermarket, with very limited stock. The room itself was fine. However, one weird thing was something that I first thought was a sofa. But it turned out not to be one. If I sat on the edge of it, there was fully two feet of space behind me to reach the back. So, it was totally useless for sitting on. I really don’t know what it was for. It was a big miss. The main thing I would criticize this hotel for, aside for not providing a breakfast, was the very poor lighting of the parking area at night. There were light posts, but the lights did not work and so the parking lot was totally dark at night. This didn’t give me a secure feeling. Also, the hotel is in a weird location. Without a GPS, I never would have found it.
