Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wapakoneta

Sadly, this hotel provided THE WORST hotel experience of my life! Upon arriving at this hotel, we had to wait at the front desk for someone to check us in. While not too long, only about 3-5 minutes, it seemed strange. After taking the filthy elevator to our floor, our key cards did not work. I go back down to the front desk. Again, no one to be found. After calling out for assistance to no avail, I see the front desk personnel outside smoking. As I walk toward the door to get attention, I'm seen and apologies where offered. The key cards are updated and we entered our room. Typical two star hotel. While trying to connect to the Wi-Fi, which didn't work, We hear the motor of the key lock. Would you believe another guest, and their family, entered the room to our surprise! As we were rightfully startled, the other guest, also surprised, apologized and retreated from the room and down to the front desk. In just a few, maybe two-three minutes, the room phone rang. It was the front desk verifying our residency. By then, I was beyond outraged, explaining our experience, the hotel offered a discount, which we accepted, but ultimately chose to check out. We didn't feel safe and were unhappy about the lack of cleanliness and security. Not trying to dissuade the use of Holiday Inn Express, just please consider this particular hotel carefully if traveling to Wapakoneta, Ohio.

A better than average stay. Staff was very friendly and personable.

Definitely not the best maintained property. Many weird repairs in the room that were not well done. We decided not to shower due to the rough condition of the tub. The room also had a foul odor.

Right off I 75 Good spot to stay for travelling. Close to Restaurants and gas stations. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed and pillows
