Visited while walking local sections of the Ridgeway, efficient welcome, warm, clean and comfortable room, bath with shower over and plenty of hot water. Nice ales at the bar, superb food (venison burger was a delight) and prompt service. Lovely buffet spread and hot choices for breakfast - kedgeree the best I've ever had. Well done to all at the Greyhound, hospitality done properly from check-in to departure.

We loved the Greyhound Inn. It was so welcoming to us and to our two labradors! Staff couldn’t be friendlier or more attentive. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and they had even put out mats, bowls and poo bags out for the dogs! Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic and very generous. Highly recommend!!!

An excellent place to stay. Very warm and comfortable. Delicious 3 course dinner. Substantial breakfast to set us on our walk on the Ridgeway. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend and hope to return.

We stayed at the Greyhound for one night while walking the Ridgeway. The evening meal was superb, the lamb burger so good we didn't have room for dessert! When we went up to our room we discovered the power was out on our side of the building. But no problem, the staff quickly helped move us to another room at the other end of the building. These things happen in an ancient building full of character.

We stayed at the Greyhound after our wedding. They were very accommodating, from our initial inquiry and logistics (as we had to check-in the day before and leave a bag ready for us when we arrived after the wedding), all the way through our stay. We stayed in the Oxford, which was beautiful, incredibly relaxing, with a beautiful bath and the most comfortable bed. We couldn't have imagined staying anywhere else, it was perfect for us. Breakfast was delicious too; the whole stay was everything we needed. We will be back! To top it off; we didn't realise one of our photobooth strips from our wedding must have fallen out of our bag in the room; we arrived back at our home yesterday to a card from the Greyhound including the photo ***** - above and beyond! Thank you so much for such a memorable, wonderful stay :)

Very old building. Our bedroom was quite small so I was pleased we had 2 cabin bags rather than a larger suitcase! If you have difficulty with stairs, I would phone before booking as our room would not have been suitable. The floor was also uneven, so not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. The room and bathroom had everything provided that you would need including bottled water. No clock though. The bar/restaurant is casual, but the food certainly isn't, it is excellent. I had steak and that was beautiful. Too full for dessert, unfortunately. Lovely breakfast, something for everybody, including dairy free milk. The staff were very helpful. If you book direct you will each get a free drink. Plenty of parking.
