Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek

We had a delightful stay with you! The Christmas decorations were stunning! We loved the tall Christmas tree laden with crystal, red and silver ornaments that greeted us in the beautiful lobby. And the charming farm-themed photo nook was gorgeous and heartwarming! We also loved the simple but powerful statement of the nativity scene on the grand piano. The soft carols playing in the background were lovely. The hospitality was wonderful as well!  Everyone was so friendly and helpful-especially the two sisters:)!  The breakfast and evening snacks were delicious -especially the Amish cookies with maple frosting! The rooms were comfortable and clean, although I missed some of the old-fashioned charm with the updates. We would stay there again in a minute. It was nothing short of magical.

I visited the Carlisle Inn with my teenage daughter for a long weekend. Every staff member that we met was helpful and friendly. The breakfast each morning was hot and fresh. Parking is plentiful. Our room was large and clean. We really enjoyed the chairs on our balcony where we could sit and watch the sunset. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed Friday, Nov 21 at Carlisle Inn in Walnut Creek, OH. Allison was so personable and cheerful when she checked us in. We loved our reserved room--spacious, clean, Amish-made K bed, couch, large chair, small table/2 chairs, bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, and across from it was an open area with a larger counter top, mirror, sink, coffee maker, fridge. You can use a microwave in the breakfast area on 2nd floor if needed. We even had a lovely, perfectly worded, handwritten Welcome Back card (actually written by Allison) and a special treat near the TV. There was an issue that Rogan gave us options and then calmly and quickly resolved the problem. We were so grateful it worked out for us to stay in this room. We always look forward to the 6:00-9:00 freshly popped popcorn, cookies and hot chocolate in the breakfast area. Creamers today were pumpkin spice, hazelnut, caramel macchiato and chocolate something. We enjoyed Cindy, the amazing breakfast supervisor. Today was scrambled eggs, link sausage, boiled eggs, yogurt/granola, mini chocolate, vanilla, maple creamsticks, hoho chocolate doughnut with cream filling, cinnamon rolls, fruit, juices, etc. We have come once almost every year since 2009! The Christmas decorations are so beautiful in the lobby, staircase, halls and exterior of the building. You can walk past Der Dutchman's parking lot to their bakery and restaurant on a cool, crisp morning, see the fog over the valley, and see/hear horses pulling buggies up or down the hilly road.

We love the Walnut Creek restaurant, chocolate shop, bakery and Carlisle Gift Shop. The gift shop has always been my favorite and I always have to stop in there every time I visit Amish country!

I’ll start with the staff. The man at the counter was very professional, friendly and helpful. The man working outside spoke and said hello. The cleaning staff is friendly as was the woman putting out the breakfast. We have stayed here before, but did not realize they had 2 bedroom suites. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with another couple. It was perfect! The bedrooms each had their own bath which was lovely. The shared living area with the outdoor deck was perfect for visiting. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast, which presented nicely. The hotel just feels much more homey and comfortable than the chains. We have never been dissatisfied with staying here.

For such a beautiful facility, they desperately need to update their mattresses and pillows. We had an updated walk-in shower which was very nice, but the grout was pink with dirt and the floor grout was also discolored. Everyone was extremely friendly. We loved the shopping and eating within next door
