Courtyard New Haven Wallingford

This hotel is clean and bed is comfortable to sleep. will stay here if i come for next trip. Highly recommend to friends.

Stayed here for two nights in July. Wasn't expecting much given prior reviews and knowing this was a basic Courtyard. In the end we had a great experience which started with a very friendly and efficient check-in process (unfortunately cannot remember her name). This is a 1990s style Courtyard... old school... with two long buildings connected by a lobby and with an actual courtyard in the middle! All, or most, rooms have small balconies. Everything was recently renovated, including lobby, common areas, hallways and guest rooms. The renovations were material, including bathrooms, carpets, most furniture, and the beds. Everything appeared clean and fresh, the hallways and rooms felt new. During our stay we noticed the hotel was hosting sizeable groups for weddings in the area. A little nervous about possible late-night noise we were very impressed with how quiet the room was... we had the A/C fan going but did not hear any other noise despite a busy period. We were about halfway down the (long) hallway of the third (top) floor. Bed was comfortable, everything worked the way it should, including A/C during a hot weekend. Slept great. Shower was nice. There is absolutely nothing around in terms of services that can be walked to. However there are many restaurants and shopping options about a 5 min drive away. Easy access to the interstate as well. This was exactly what you want in a Courtyard, if you know the brand. As a bonus, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. If ever in the area again this would be our choice.

Mixed experience at this Courtyard. The good: - Rooms feel new & clean - Easy access to highway and many food options several minutes away - Marci at the front desk was one of the best hotel employees I've ever encountered (handled a reservation problem quickly and politely) The bad: - Constant noise in the courtyard area at 2am on both weekend nights, due to a wedding group. I called front desk at 2am, which helped slightly, but the noise remained for another hour. There should be stricter enforcement of noise restrictions. - The pullout sofa beds are like prison mats. Don't rely on them for a second bed, if you want some sleep
