Used the chalets as one night stop on our motorcycle travels last year, a bit run down but all good . ( breakfast was cooked to order not a buffet type thing ) Indian evening meal was excellent , staying locally this year we returned solely for the food knowing it would be good again ! thanks we will be back ...

Worst hotel/pub accommodation we have ever stayed in in over 50 years. £100 per night room was damp with staining on wall and ceiling, black mould in shower and rusty wire tray shelf over sink. When we arrived room was like sauna as heating turned up to max on a warm day we assume to dry out the room. Food was very poor with limited choice, poor ingredients and no special diner menu which they had advertised. Breakfast equally poor. TV did not work as nearly all channels were unavailable. Complained and refused to stay for 2nd night that we had pre booked. Outside of our chalet the pergola covering the access walkway had part collapsed. The photos they used must have been taken a long time ago. There were only a few guests, contractors working on other hotels and two couples with dogs and the whole place had an aura of decay and dereliction.

Lovely food, great value for money and very friendly service too. Best hunters chicken my partner has ever had… delicious!

The guy running the place was lovely and welcoming. The menu isn’t extensive but the curry was excellent as was the fish and chips and the lasagne. The place is a bit tired but give it a chance.

A mixed experience trying the Indian menu. Very friendly and helpful staff Ordered chicken tikka and onion bhaja the former unusual don't think it had been in a tandoor but very tasty and had very good mint sauce accompaniment. The onion bhaja was rather floury and spicy but still pleasant. Naan bread was excellent accompaniment to a lamb curry. Whereas the lamb biryani was just bizarre, totally lacking in aromatic spices or usual nut and veg additions not served with veg curry but a raita! who put yoghurt and rice together? It was not a winning combination. For dessert we switched to english dishes, ice cream was pleasant enough fruit crumble was a fruit puree with toasted crumbles on top, not oven baked but almost acceptable. Left feeling disappointed, the staff deserved so much more.

We came to the Inn on the Wye for the first time in a couple of years. We normally book a room here but this time did not. We popped in for a couple of drinks. The owner was a lovely gentleman and talked highly of his Indian food which is now on the menu. Unfortunately we could not dine but we are making a point of coming back in September for a night and sampling the food then. Looking forward to it. Thank you for the great service you provided us.

It was a hugely disappointing stay. The check-in was basically a farce. The room was double-booked, and we were advised to return at 6 pm, which we refused to do. There was no management regime evident. Our room was basic but clean, the bed was very uncomfortable. There was ample wardrobe space. Outside of the room, the wooden railings were rotten and broken and would easily break should someone tumble and presents a real danger. The food for the evening was nice. The staff in the evening were more efficient but appear rushed. The Sunday morning breakfast was satisfactory but a long time in arriving. Overall we will not be returning and would not be recommending anyone else. The establishment is tired, and in dire need of refurbishment, the outside is untidy and presents a poor image.

Unfortunately, the venue needs serious TLC – it's run-down and tired. When I arrived, it looked closed, and I wasn’t sure I had the right place. The outside could really do with a clean-up; there’s an old double-decker bus out front that looks abandoned, and the kerb appeal just isn’t there – weeds, dirty windows, and rusting railings all add to that tired feel. Even a dead bird on the drive up to the carpark which has been there a while by the looks of it. Inside the bar/restaurant, most lights were off, which again made it feel like the bar area might be closed. Having what looked like someone’s old lounge sofa and chairs in the corner felt a bit out of place — the worn cream leather didn’t really suit the space and looked quite tired. I ordered food, which arrived quickly and looked lovely, but the strong smell from the Indian side of the restaurant really dominated the whole venue — especially noticeable during breakfast. It might be worth looking into the extraction system, as the scent was quite overpowering. The food itself wasn’t the tastiest I’ve had, but it was freshly cooked to order. Access to the bar via the outdoor stairs isn’t the easiest — they’re a bit tricky, so I’d recommend taking extra care. The indoor stairs down to the bar could also use some attention, with loose carpet and low lighting making them feel a little unsafe. The walk up to the bedrooms at the back revealed broken spindles and a rotten, damaged roof over the path. There’s also an old caravan next door which looks abandoned, though I wasn’t sure if it’s still in use. On a positive note, I was pleasantly surprised when I entered my room — it smelled fresh, and the bedding looked clean and well presented. The room itself was basic, and the lighting was very dim, which could be improved, but the location was quiet and I had a lovely, peaceful sleep. That said, the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the bar was well stocked. With its great location and some investment in appearance, this place could have real potential. The place is in real need of some time, care, and attention. I’d recommend removing the old vehicles like the bus and caravan and focusing on restoring this charming building to its full potential. I am sorry to say but I think that the price tag on night’s stay here is extremely high. Maybe an idea to join in the the planned walks and use the bar as an official starting/ending point, make the experience all about the walks. I would contact the local council to see if there was a way to do a collaboration, fund raising days, community coffee mornings, freshen the bus up and advertise this also for the kids. Put clear signing at the bottom on the drive ( the one there currently is covered by overgrown hedges ) Light the building up starting with the drive entrance so that people know that this is open.

This is the worst lodging I have ever stayed in. The room was worn out and dirty. There was mold on the walls. We had to wait 45 minutes to get our breakfast after we ordered. Another couple was leaving while we were waiting for our breakfast. He complained to me about how slow the service was. Two tables which were seated after we were received their food before we did. Avoid this place at all costs. Even if you have to pay double somewhere else or if you have to drive an additional hour the next day to reach your destination.
