The Featherbed Inn

I can’t say enough great things about the Featherbed Inn! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was above and beyond. As a bigger guy, I tend to eat a lot, and they always made sure I was well-fed—way more than I expected, and every meal was absolutely fantastic. You won’t leave the table hungry here! The sauna was a game-changer after long days on the slopes. It’s one of the best I’ve ever experienced—hot, relaxing, and the perfect way to recover from an epic day of skiing at Sugarbush. Speaking of skiing, the location is perfect for easy access to the mountain, and the conditions were incredible while I was there. The Featherbed Inn truly makes you feel at home, with next-level service, amazing food, and that cozy Vermont charm. If you’re heading to Sugarbush, this is the place to stay!

The Featherbed Inn was an idyllic base for our Vermont Nordic ski getaway in the Mad River Valley area. Karen and Mick were so friendly and welcoming. The room and bath were sparkling clean, and the bed very comfortable. With two living rooms, one with a large fireplace, there is plenty of common space to enjoy, and we appreciate the 5PM libation and cookies - the hot ginger lemon maple toddy was amazing. Breakfasts were 3 courses and fantastic and we enjoyed the communal seating (though there are separate tables as well). They easily accommodated my low gluten request while my husband had no problem as a vegetarian. The Inn is conveniently located to dinner restaurants. The sauna is incredibly built and perfect for after a day of skiing and there is a hot tub as well.. The XC skiing was fabulous- Camels Hump State Park, Rikert Nordic (at Middlebury) and then locally Blueberry Lake- would have liked to explore the Catamount Trail and go up to Von Trapp as well as Ole’s locally but ran out of time. We look forward to coming back to the B&B in the summer with its swimming pond and gardens while enjoying hiking and canoeing and biking.

Excellent inn with wonderful rooms and very attentive and helpful hosts. Karen and Mick saw to our every need and whim. Great central location in Mad River Valley with very convenient access to all ski areas. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Extremely comfortable beds. The Featherbed Inn is a new favorite. Chic comfort, excellent service, great amenities like the sauna and hot tub too. Highly recommend for family or couples trip. Also ideal facilities and location for team building event or executive retreat. Will come again. Loved it here!

The Featherbed Inn is a welcoming updated Inn with comfortable furnishings and beautiful art and the best breakfast you’ll ever have. The grounds are spacious and picturesque and the amenities include a new outdoor sauna and hot tub. The Innkeepers Mick and Karen make you feel at home. A three course breakfast is served every day. One morning we had raisin and vanilla scones , roasted pears and shirred eggs. Another day we had a chocolate dutch baby pancake with orange sauce. Fresh brewed coffee and tea are available all day. The Inn is located near Sugarbush mountain and town. Karen and Mick can someone offer suggestions about recreation and local restaurants. We can’t wait to go back !

The Featherbed Inn is simply excellent. Wonderful breakfasts and lovely rooms. And the sheets are unexpectedly luxurious. Mick and Karen are superb hosts and will make your stay truly enjoyable. And look for the special baked goods in the evening. Yummy!!

Mick and Karen are wonderful people who provide the quintessential Vermont cozy bed and breakfast experience. I cherish my memory of sipping coffee early in the morning before sunrise while the crackling fire inside the old stone hearth illuminated the wooden beams and tasteful art. Each morning we enjoyed gourmet breakfasts with lively conversation with other guests. The woods right outside are beautiful and accessible for walking, hiking, etc. They had great insights into the local area for visiting. Relaxing in the hot tub and sauna ....mmmmm. This place is a special gem in an area of special gems.
