Residence Inn St. Cloud

Guests praise the friendly, knowledgeable staff and exceptional cleanliness. They love the spacious, well-kept suites with great beds. Complimentary breakfast is varied but could benefit from freshly prepared options.

I was on the fence on whether this should be a 3 or 4 stars. The reason I went with 4 is that I stayed here a few months ago and there wasn't anything that would have prompted me to leave a review (meaning excellent or needing improvement--and this time the latter). I travel A LOT so kind of have an idea of what's expected at the Residence Inn. The staff seem friendly and room was clean (two important things). Kudos! However, the feel in the room is so dark and dreary, no artwork, with glaring white LED lights. It was depressing. I was visiting for a depressing reason (loss in the family) and this just made it worse. Some switchout of hardware needs to happen - rusty bathroom faucet and showerhead with mineral deposits that was clogged. Again, something I simple I hope management notices and changes out. The breakfast was a 2.5 star experience - again just simple things that can be fixed. It wasn't stocked well, I went mid serving time at the end and it was mostly depleted (or maybe never completely was?). There were very few options aside from a good selection of eggs (3 types). It included oatmeal, apples, oranges, no bread for toast (strange?), and a few each of english muffins, bagels, yogurt, milk). BUT they had iced coffee out and water. That's amazing! These little unique extras are wonderful. Do more of this! I didn't use the pool this time, but kids loved it last time we stayed.

Great stay, felt like an upscale apartment. I stayed for a 3-day business conference at the event center next door. I loved the connection so that i could avoid ealking outside. The gym facilities are good and the hot tub and pool were very comfortable. The 1-BR apartment felt like home. I even brought a few groceries from home and kept in the large fridge.
