Loved our time here! The lodge is beautiful—super warm, clean, and cozy. The host was lovely and made us feel really welcome. The takeout BBQ from Waipiata Hotel was amazing—so tasty and heaps of food. Feeding the sheep was such a cool experience too! The whole place has a peaceful vibe, and it the lodge had everything we needed.

This place was a real gem, unexpected and the best place we stayed on the Otago Rail trail. Arriving at the Lodge is alittle mini-adventure as the Lodge is well off the beaten track – about 5km actually. The building is old and original and very comfortable. Peter was an excellent host and a fine advert for southern hospitality. Evening meal was taken at the local pub back in Waipiata. To get there he lent us a car on the proviso that we brought it back. The food at the pub was excellent, particularly the pies. A very different B & B and a little bit special.

Great place to stay in Otago. I had loads of fun doing day trips across Otago from here. Peter knows so much about the local area and good hiking, biking and touring routes. Nice quiet rural stay with a lovely farmhouse vibe. Will definitely have to stay again when I’m back in the area.

We loved Peter’s Farm Lodge, the building was so special and beautifully kept - so much character. It had everything we needed - tea/coffee/milk in the kitchen to grab whenever, simple breakfast, washing machine, very clean and modern bathrooms etc. The views from the Lodge are stunning, a wonderful place to spend some time and Peter offered us to help feed his pet lamb - great fun! Peter gave us great advice to stop at St Bathans en route to Queenstown - excellent advice as it was an amazing place. Dinner at the Waipiata pub was also a great recommendation. Thank you very much!

Peter was the ultimate host, welcoming us and showing us around the property. He had even baked fresh bread for our breakfast! The property is a wonderful example of an era passed, but maintained in a way that keeps its authenticity, yet still remains a comfortable and enjoyable space. The views are fabulous and the sound of farm life is the only noise you hear. We were traveling by e-bikes and the ease with which we could charge our bikes was greatly appreciated. Peter provided us with a courtesy vehicle to get to the local pub for our evening meal. I definitely recommend it as a great place to stay.
