The Cottage on Waikare ticks all the boxes- just up the road from the buzzing village and a short stroll to the sands of Oneroa beach, with a huge deck on which to sit & enjoy the views!
The cottage has an open plan living/kitchen/dining area, opening onto the large deck at the front. There is sky TV and a heatpump, so it is a great spot in winter or summer alike. This room opens onto the large sunny deck which overlooks the bay, and has huge twin umbrellas, meaning you can have shade during the heat of the day. There is a large outdoor dining table & a BBQ.
The 2 bedrooms are to the side of the living room. The master bedroom has lovely views over the bay. The bunk room is only suitable for children. The laundry & bathroom are accessed from the kitchen.
Take a short stroll into the village to explore the many shops, galleries and cafes on offer. The large section and proximity to the beach make this property perfect for young families. The Cottage is central to everything including the Matiatia ferry and many of Waiheke’s award winning restaurants.
Each stay incurs a $150 charge for quality linen, towels and exit clean so you have nothing to do but relax, refresh and enjoy.

Perfect short get away
We spent two nights here and loved it. Its a classic little bach in the most amazing location. We had four seasons in one day and sat on the huge deck area in the sun and retreated indoors to sit around the table when the rain set in. The views were fantastic from both indoors and outdoors. The beach, shops and bus stops are just around the corner but you cant hear any noise except the waves. Would love to return again.

Lovely stay, great location and great service
We stayed two nights in April 2023. The cottage was lovely and comfortable, in a great location and close to all the shops. The view from the terrace was breathtaking. Pre-stay instructions were comprehensive and the owners left welcome gifts for us. The only small thing was that the washing machine stopped working, but communication with the staff was very efficient and they arranged a repairman on the same day. There were also a few loose window bolts and door seals that needed to be fixed but we informed the staff and I have no doubt they were dealt with. The driveway down to the parking area next to the cottage is very steep and the bottom of your car will be scratched. But staff informed us that we can park on the road so that solved the problem. All in all, a lovely stay and highly recommended.

Great location
The property is in excellent position, a short walk to shops and restaurants. One thing to note is that the drive is very steep and low cars can become grounded. Everything we needed for a 5 day break except for the sunshine, rained for 4 days ! Would recommend the house and the island.

Idyllic cottage
Lovely little cottage with fabulous deck! Great location right in Oneroa. House had everything we needed and was very clean. Lovely gift from agency on arrival too. Just didn’t know about steep drive and big steps to bathroom (we had someone with some mobility limitations so would have liked to know that). I’d book direct next time to save having to deal with two agencies.

Great spot. Ideally located.
All went well.
Gas bottle ran out after 2-3 minutes so was essentially empty on arrival. Slight nuisance but no biggie.
