Al Salam Desert Camp

We stayed there for 2 nights and absolutely loved every moment of it. The quality of the tents, the delicious food, and the outstanding hospitality made our stay very special. The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming. One of the highlights of our trip was enjoying Camel Riding with the Sunset, which was a magical and peaceful moment, witnessing the desert turn golden as the sun went down. The next morning, we went for an adventurous Dune Bashing with the Sunrise, and it was such a thrilling experience, feeling the cool desert breeze and watching the sun rise over the endless dunes. Everything about this camp was perfect for a honeymoon getaway. Both my wife and I created beautiful memories that we will cherish forever.I would highly recommend Al Salam Desert Camp to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable desert experience in Oman. And yes — we would love to visit again!

My partner and I had an amazing time at the camp! The best part was our desert tour with Said Al Malki.. He was so professional, he introducing us to local Bedouin and being generally great chat..The check-in staff were great too giving us recommendations and making us feel welcome.. Food was so delicious.. Highly Recommended!

You can reach the camp via a short piece of sand slope. The accommodation in a kind of glamping tent is original. The staff is without doubt friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner are varied, delicious and very plentiful. Lots of interesting activities available such as Quad, 4WD desert trips, camel rides, balloon rides to sunrise... Highly Recommended

The accommodation at the camp was good and we very much enjoyed the music in the evening and the fire. The staff were also polite and friendly. Things were less good on the food front. Dinner is served between 19.00 and 21.00. My partner and I arrived at 20.00. The dinner is a buffet and by 20.00 half of the food had been eaten and not replenished and the other half was cold and inedible. There were some barbecued skewers of meat which were hot. So I ate these with the last of the bread. So in summary a nice place but the food is below the standard it should be.

Beautiful place in a great location, with a huge red dune behind you. The sunsets are gorgeous. I was the only visitor when I was there, as it is still low-season - so I was expecting a reduced experience but They complimentary upgraded my room to their best tent, which was amazing! And then they complimentary took me dune bashing as well… The staff member in the dining area kept me company while I ate, and they provided so much food for me. Super relaxing place. Be aware that they now take only card for the activities so no need to bring cash! I did the Bedouin visit (paid for) and dune bashing (complimentary). The driver was great and offered lots of information for me as we drove. However I would skip the Bedouin visit as the women sits on her mobile phone watching videos and arguing with her daughter, the entire time after she has tried to sell you things. Her and her family did not really want to spend time here - which is ok, but better to cancel the trip than go for no reason - it does not feel very authentic unfortunately. I will definitely visit this camp again. Thank you team!!
