Nol in 't Bosch

I had not very good experiences, poor internet, basic breakfast, smells of smokes around and a difficult location from public transportation. Taking a cab or cycling is the only option to reach the hotel. Stores or petty shops are far away from the location. Maybe best for people with their car.

A very out dated 70s build severely needing up graded to modern standards.

Nice place, nice people, only update needed The hotel is located in a very nice location of Wageningen. All the personal i have met were very friendly and very helpfull. The hotel only needs a major update.

A rural and romantic gem. A classic atmosphere and very clean. The breakfast was good regarding it wasn't scandinavian. It had EV-charging.

Liked · The location is optimal - the forest and nature is the big selling point of this hotel. Waking up to birds singing and walking through the forest is a great experience when not used to this. The Parking is spacious and easy to reach. Having our dog with us in the room was our initial point to decide for this location. Disliked · The hotel is old and absolutely not well maintained. It is not a 4 star residence at all - 3 at most. Rooms are spacious but not cleaned very well - we had a gigantic non-disclosed stain in the seating area - and the bathroom could use a deep clean as well. Renovations have been done on small scale, like new tiles in the bathroom, but substantial changes like double-glazing (the current single-pane glazing is causing a draft!) or the carpets really need some TLC. The breakfast is very limited and based on products that could be procured cheapest (imho), and placed without any love. The restaurant part is rather nice, the breakfast hall is (again) in need of renovation and a lot of love. The dinner-menu is limited for vegetarians, both vegi main courses are cheese-based so we didn't bother to dine-in. The kitchen might be able to support other options, but we didn't ask for that, and decided to go to a near-by restaurant. With check-in several important points were not communicated (like the fact that we had to hang the "please clean room" sign on the door to have the daily cleaning done (which btw was only changing towels and making the bed, not changing it). The second day we found a paper under the information folder that stated this - when asking the reception this paper should've been placed on the pillow. Apparently the TV system is being replaced (status March 21st 2022) so only 3 local channels were available. Our biggest concern: while entering the Hotel in the evening you hit a wall of cigarette smoke, at first I thought there was a cigar lounge in the restaurant, but it seems that the owner (who apparently lives on-site) is a heavy smoker. Even because of the earlier mentioned draft in the room, the smoke came all the way up into our room. Not nice having a dust and smoke allergy. In 2 of the evenings we fetched 2 glasses of Champagne from the bar, while checking out we had to pay 12.50€ per glass of Champage - this seems a bit steep for the location.
