We came for a two day stopover on our way back from Namibia. The accommodation was lovely, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Ancarene was extremely welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the weather did not co-operate from our point of view (rained whole time except for morning of departure!) so we didn't get to enjoy the flower walk. However, Vanrhynsdorp has the quaintest jail cum museum of curiosities with a lovely collection of succulents as well. We will definitely need to come back again to enjoy the flowers!

Wonderful peaceful location, Mountain Views beautiful sunset and incredible starry skies. Our lovely host Ancarene was very helpful and we enjoyed a mesmerising trip into the mountains we otherwise wouldn’t have known existed. Breakfast was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed one night to break the journey between Upington and Montagu and were made extremely welcome. The farm is really interesting, the pool looked lovely, and there are chickens and friendly dogs roaming between the fruit trees. It’s an idyllic location between dramatic mountains and sunset on the rocks was great, followed by excellent star gazing. We had a view of a small lake too. The en suite room had a useful stove and good size fridge freezer, and the breakfast (you pay extra) was lovely. We also bought homemade orange marmalade which is gorgeous! The host suggested we drive the nearby pass before we left, which was extremely beautiful and well worth the time. The private and quiet location, animals and fruit, and warmth of the host all made this a really lovely stopover and we’d certainly use it again if passing that way. Good value for money too.

Your welcome was very much appreciated, the accommodation was really cosy, well equipped and spotlessly presented and with the picturesque beautiful surroundings made a perfect break after a long drive. We really enjoyed our short stay at Maskam, if we knew how delightfully calm ans relaxing it would be we would have booked for longer but we needed a convenient stopover halfway between Namaqua National Park and our home near Cape Town.
