Where do I start? The boat rental was indeed a great experience and the two gentlemen helping at the boat dock were delightful.That’s where the great experience ends. Upon arrival we were checked into room four and the smell of mold in the room was intense. We went back to the office to tell them that the smell of mold in the room was unbearable and they switched us to a different room (7). There was a slight smell in that room but less than the first room so we accepted it. We noticed that the air was not blowing very well when we checked in to room So we turned it all the way up and went to dinner expecting it to be cool when we came back. The room was still warm. The enclave area, where the bed is was 10 to 15° hotter than the rest of the room. When going to sit down in the recliner a 6 to 7 inch long lizard came out from under our feet and ran up our wall and battle Royale Ensued to get the lizard out of our room. We tried going to the office to inform them about the air-conditioning and there was no one there. We called and no one answered. There was no help to be had. The dank and musty smell of mold in our room, turned into full on sinus pressure and headache. We decided to pack up and leave at 9:20 at night with two children under the age of five on tow and drive the hour home. We left a message asking for the manager to call us back and did not receive one. When we called, We spoke to the woman at the front desk who was incredibly rude. She literally hung up the phone on us after telling us that we were lying, and that they don’t offer any form of refund. They claim there is “no mold” and yet there is literally green and black mold growing on the entire wall of the building that faces the pool. The wall in which your air conditioning unit hangs and pumps, moldy air directly into your room. Who conducts business this way? No wonder the parking lot was empty In the middle of the summer in Florida, that should’ve been our first sign! The accommodations at this place are incredibly lacking. But worse than the Poor accommodations are the disgustingly poor mannered staff running the desk. Stay elsewhere.

Everyone there was amazing! They were super accommodating and the space was so big and roomy!

Hontoon Landing .. serene. This was a family trip. While the property appears to be maybe older it has been updated. While ironing clothes on their small/folding ironing board was not ideal .. overall our experience there was very nice. Our time there was peaceful and refreshing. The staff were polite and welcoming.

Fantastic stay, will be back

Hidden treasure Staff were excellent, from the time we arrived till the time we left. We actually booked another trip for next month before leaving.

One of the most unique places I’ve ever stayed. My daughter & I got to the hotel at night, so imagine our joy when we woke up & discovered the view of the river (& the manatees!!) from the back balcony. We loved it!
