Virginia City Inn

Rooms have different themes. Room was very clean, service was excellent, room included small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Very quiet location and walking distance to downtown.

We rented the Wild West suite for 3 nights and used it as a base to explore Virginia City, Carson City, and more. The motel is about a 5-minute walk into town or a 30-second drive. Very clean room. Mountain views. You can hear muffled voices from below if anyone there is talking, but the location is mostly quiet. Fun décor with Western (including Indian) prints and items. Two good books about the West are on the dresser, plus a "herd your horses" boardgame which we played and enjoyed. I would suggest that the motel one day add wood or wood-colored mouldings where the white walls meet the white ceilings. I would also suggest one day changing the modern white kitchen cabinets to more old-fashioned wooden-looking ones. This would go with the vintage furniture which we loved. Our teenage son loved sleeping in that Victorian murphy bed. Shower and toilet worked great. We wouldn't mind better toilet paper, but it was OK. Also we suggest a roll of paper towels for the kitchen. But the kitchen was well stocked. Good friendly proprietors who phoned me before our arrival to let us know that some repainting was happening on site that day, which we appreciated.

Everything was clean. The hotel is very basic and that's fine, but the shower is way too small. The bed was just ok. The mini fridge was too small. No ice was available for patrons. When we return to Virginia City, we'll try another place.

This is a perfect place to stay in Virginia City. It’s only a 3 minute walk to the center of town. We stayed in the two bedroom unit and it was clean, large and updated. It was great to have the kitchen since we were there for the car show and restaurants were busy. It had very cool decor and the back deck looked out to a beautiful view with the most amazing sunsets. I will absolutely stay here again. The entire property was clean and there was good parking onsite and on the street.

The original stay was booked for the Virginia City Inn...however, when we got there, we requested a different room. The owner was the one who checked us in and provided a different room at the Silver Mountain Retreat. We couldn't have been happier. The place was absolutely beautiful. A full apartment suite with 2 bedrooms, a very well done bathroom, living room and a full size kitchen. We had a wonderful 3 night stay and plan on going back soon!

What a beautiful little hotel! My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our October birthday’s!! We had a wonderful time! The owner is the sweetest lady! Thank you for your hospitality! Highly recommend! And the best part was I looked out our window and saw the wild horses had come up to eat the fresh grass at the back of the motel!!!! So awesome! We’ll be back next year!!
